All that is happening is the Mayan calendar reaching it's end, nothing more.. All the hype came from Hollywood with this "2012" movie, and a fan website selling survivor tickets to some unknown island to prepare for the end of the world. The world is in no way ending anytime soon. The only thing garinteed is a few billion years in the future when the sun turns red giant and consumes most of the planets in this solar system.
