Weeeeeeeeeeeell, there could be a compromise. Guilds start off with 10 slots, no payment.
Expansion become 10k/per new slot.
Or....
(This will probably involve more coding)
You can simply have 'chat groups' that are free, but have no name/status. There are no rankings or any of the changes C-I features. And, guilds will still exist, with all the changes you mentioned.

It makes sense for guilds to be required to have a physical location, but what incentive would players have to want their official HQ to be focused on a single "base" realm (rather than, say, an entire town sprawling across several realms)? If bases are going to be a thing, there should be something special about them.
Possibilities (really just spewing out everything I can think of--tear these ideas apart if you think they're bad :P ):
--Guilds may purchase some bonus effect (chosen and purchased from a list of potion/beacon effects) which help them while in their base realm.
--Guilds can compete with one another to have the most impressive looking base (integrated with the "realm rankings" idea)
--Bases have some special role in the proposed "guild battle" feature. e.g. "conquering" another guild's base (this being dependent on some condition, whether kills of an opponent on their home turf, a CTF system, or whatever) would yield some benefit for the attacking guild, and some penalty for the losing guild (until, of course, they retake their base).

I would have voted yes had it not been for A and B. I enjoy how the guild system is now. Having quite some friends on the server I do enjoy being able to have a separate chat with them. A lot of my members struggle themselves to get their own realms, so putting forth the money may be an issue with us if that little tidbit is implemented. I do enjoy the other additions though, I feel those will add some fun new factors into the guild system. :) Just my personal opinion.

Or, you could just use the buddy system properly, rather than adding every person on the server. :) Just my personal opinion.

I agree but what if these hq*s are assigned a realm maybe at a new spawn? And so when you create a guild your given a realm but these realms are unique in which they don't disband unless the guild disbands and no one can buy these realms there only able to be got by creating a guild. Hear could be like protected storage areas for guildees.

Voted no ONLY because of A and B. My questions are why should we add a fee to something that has been so readily available? What good will come out of it that EVERYONE can benefit from? I completely love C through I, but I'm finding A and B a little bit too much, and I think that might be why most people are voting "No."

We are classifying and limiting people even further now by their wealth on Minerealm. If this is implemented, only the richest players can have the best guilds.

Honestly, I think that you can only push something so far with costs and competitiveness before it becomes a hassle and an annoyance.
