My coins aren't that old, 19th century is the oldest, except for one coin that I found that could be ancient, but is probably a fake. I try more to find rare coins, like 1943 copper pennies, and other coins. One coin that I want to know about in particular is a1,5 Euro coin from 1997. It says that it is de nimes, which I think is French, but I know someone from France, and he says that he's never heard of it, and I can't find it on the Internet.

Wow, the complete lack of information on this coin is astounding.

And unfortunately, my coins of the world book only covers up to 1983.

I'll keep looking around for something. Looks like it might be a french coin, possibly a commemorative linked to this:

Sorry, the link was derping and trying to link to a different page x_x

Nevermind... France didn't have the euro in 1997. They were still using Centimes.

Pick up one of these little guys for $15, add some duct tape or whatever you need to jury rig it to the car/plane/helicopter/rocket, and have some fun.

I had some great times with this, especially combined with helium balloons.

Surprisingly funny being able to see things you wouldn't normally see. Also, crashes and malfunctions are so much better when you get to film them.

What happens when a very large model rocket (N-3500 motor, which if you know anything about rocketry, is absolutely massive) fails to pop it's parachute and instead comes in as a ballistic missile from 30,000ft of altitude.

Not my video, but this is my hobby :P

guadalcanal1 wrote:Hey everyone! I just got a new RC car, and I would like to know some tips (If you have any) for using it.

Here are some specs:
1/18 scale (9 inches long 7.5 inches wide( tiny))
Supposedly up to 40mph (it didn't seem to go nearly that fast)
7.2 volt NiMh 1100MaH battery
400MaH charger (light isn't turning on. Broken?)

I don't consider myself and expert but I have owned and fixed quite a few RC Cars and I think I may be able to help you.

First of all the speed on the box is in absolute perfect conditions. This means that you have to have the highest possible gear ratio with your drive and pinion gear. You need to have the flat ultra-grip tires for that brand. The battery is probably the biggest factor in speed. You need a very powerful 7.2 volt battery. The biggest I have seen is a 7500 series 10 cell battery. These boost performance by alot and your battery life will increase by alot.

The battery you have is a relatively low powered battery. I am guessing your battery life is only 5-8 minutes.

For the charger I would need the brand and model, with a little more information.

I would check your servo. I don't know how many times I stripped out a plastic servo gear. If your servo is fairly high torque then you may want to have a few gears stocked up. If you want to save money in the long run then get a stainless steel servo gear.

This could also be messed up by your steering trim. You may want to check that.

I hope this helps you.

Thanks,

Thanks! I have made a few upgrades since my first post. I purchased a new 25A ESC and a brushless 7800 kv motor. I have broken and repaired the steering rod twice, fixed the broken suspension, and got the servo to work, but now it's really busted. I'm gonna buy a new one soon. Also, I get quite a bit of run time, 15-20 minutes, with my current battery. Is there a way to replace it with a LiPo battery?

I also collect coins and have many ranging through 20 countries.

I looked around some for your coin and I didn't find much, the de nimes is French and links to various things in The country. Here's a link of a website that had the same coin as you, although it is all in French... :\

I also have a mystery coin, although it has no English or even letters on it. It puzzles me quite a bit. Might post a pic later. Another thought, a coin thread? :P

Actually two mystery coins. One might be a fake though.

Price: 7 € City: 30000 Nîmes This token has had over 1.5 euros in shops and cafes in Nimes during the feria of 1997. He wears a tee ^ c amount (1.5 euro) and the arms of Nîmes (palm and crocodile) and on the other side "Feria de Nîmes 15 to 19 May 1997" with the heads of the emperors of Nîmes (as Ace). Provide 0.95 euros in addition to shipping costs.

You can use a LiPo just as long as your ESC has a low-voltage cut-off. If the voltage on a LiPo drops below a certain point, it kills the battery. That's why the newer ESC's have the cut-off; it keeps the battery from draining to a dangerous level.
