what he means if the host of the auction decided to withdraw his auction cause of the outcome or whatever reason, is it illegal. -_- for referance use my auction I am having.

When people start an auction they should look at those goods as if they are no longer theirs. Ending an auction before the end-date is passed is not by the rules, deleting an auction would be the same thing.

Bidders on auctions aren't allowed to just withdraw their bids, this is bannable, as staff mentioned before. Only are they allowed the withdraw their bids of the starter of the auction gives his/her permission.

Okay so there are two parities involved in a contract of sale the Seller and the Buyer.
In the case of Auctions the Seller is the Auctioneer and the Buyer is the Bidder.
To be a valid auction the auctioneer needs to state:

1) the starting bidding price for the goods in question
2) the minimum bid increments
3) the reserve bid (If the bidding fails to meet this the auctioneer can refuse sale)

Bidders may place bids and may retract their bid before the closing date, but if the closing date is passed they are bond to buy the goods.
In the case of an auctioneer withdrawing the goods from sell, well I'm unsure.
I have some example case studies of court cases in English law in real life concerning withdrawal of sale.
But I'm not sure on what Minerealm's rules are regarding the withdrawal of auction goods.
Presumeably so long as credits have not exchanged hands then maybe the auctioneer can refuse sale?
Anyway these case studies might be persuasive, but perhaps not suitable for Minerealm law?

Barry v Davies [2000] 1 WLR 1962 is an English contract law case concerning an auction. The court held that an auctioneer is bound to sell to the highest bidder where there is no reserve price, and can't withdraw the sale simply because the price is too low. A bid in an auction, the possibility of acceptance of the bid, unless the bid is withdrawn, and the benefit to the auctioneer of driving up the price bid is sufficient consideration. The contract in an auction is between the buyer and the seller, not the buyer and the auctioneer, although the buyer has a collateral agreement with the auctioneer.
Remedy is the difference between the contract value, and the current market value of the goods under the Sale of Goods Act 1971 s51(3). The value in this case was £27,600.

If you are wanting to do this, just add a notice that you may be doing this, and in my opinion this informs all players who bid, and they then bid with the knowledge that this could happen.

Basically without a warning, I would say this is illegal, however if a warning is added, then I see no reason against it.

Pretty much, yes. If you want to have a reserve, that fact needs to be stated in the initial post, and ideally someone impartial should know what that number is, in order to confirm that you're not up to shenanigans. You may NOT simply decide not to sell, though you MAY reject a bid from a particular buyer.

Items placed up for auction should be considered sold, bids placed should be considered spent.

After giving it a great deal of thought. I say no its not illegal, nor frowned upon. Seeing that the Host of the sell or auction is not satisfied with the results or outcome, he may withdraw or cancel the sell/auction. Either to stock up on better goods, or to give thought on what the consumer wants that can better the next events outcome. However if he/she has accepted any bids, then they cannot withdraw the sell/auction, and must proceed to sell/auction the goods off. I have yet to see the host of the event to accept the bids in a reply thus making them only price options, and thus the host can stop and cancel the event as long as he/she hasn't accepted any of the bids.

Now if I was buying from an sell/auction, and won pending the host was satisfied with the outcome of the event and replied to me either in his forum or via inbox. I must pay up or else.


However not seeing anything bout what you meant being illegal in the rules of auctioning on minerealm.com, I can only say our posts are just mere suggestions to satisfy your curiosity.
