From the time I joined almost a year and a half ago, lots of things on Minerealm have changed. The community has gone from a tight-nit group of friends, working for common goals, to a ever-fighting, and divided community. The Minerealm I used to know just isn't there, for many reasons, and I think it's time to officially say goodbye.

So, it's been great, Minerealm. You've introduced me to new friends, let me experience the best game on earth in the greatest way possible, and shown, at first, how the game should be played. And now, it's time to say farewell. If any of the players that are left want to contact me add me on Steam (Connorartman97).

Connor, bye. I'll miss you. That one idea, that alligance, that was powerful. I'll miss a friend who was a business partner, I'll miss a friend who I never got to know until it was too late.

Bye connor, it's been fun!

I wonder how long he'll be gone before coming back and needing to post a ban appeal because of this thread.

As I said on an earlier goodbye thread:
CHAOSiron13 wrote:I love minerealm with all my heart, but the truth is, I think it's reached its life expectancy. Vets are leaving in droves, the server population is at record lows; at a time of day when we once had 100 players online, we now have 50. face it, comrades, the end times are upon us.

I personally will be with the server 'til the end, and for those of you that will be there with me, I recommend
you stock up on canned goods and diamonds, as food and valuables will be scare in the end of days. In those times, we shall be reduced to a group of malevolent savages, living off the supplies in abandoned realms, and roaming the wasteland of a once great civilization.

Yet, as the cities of minerealm slowly fade into memory, a great specter from the past will emerge to tell us of our wrongs, and why this great server has crumbled. Call him what you will, he could be any number of departed allies or enemies, for we shall never see his face until the server is reduced to ash and we are all hurled to our ends in the fires of the endless nether. May Intelli have mercy on our souls. As for the leaving vets: You have left your mark on the hallowed ground that is Minerealm, and your contributions shall never be forgotten.

Much as I hate to admit it, I'm starting to think you may be right--at least partly. I don't think the server is totally doomed, but we should get used to having a smaller population. I think we're seeing the opposite side of the "baby boom" from late last year (during or slightly after the time that I joined last summer)--back then, some people were even complaining that there were TOO MANY players, if you can believe it. Now, as some of those players start to tire of this server or of minecraft in general, our population is dropping. I think we'll eventually reach a sort of equilibrium, where the rate of loss of veteran players will be no greater than the rate of gain of new players (or, more relevantly, the rate of gain of new players who actually stay for a while). It probably won't be 100, but perhaps we can count on having 50-60 online at a time for quite a long time to come. Or, of course, with colleges already done for the year and the end of the high school year fast approaching, we may have some current or new players who suddenly have more time to play over the next few months.

Even among those who are leaving now, we may see some of them again--just look at Ryu Aurora as an example of a remarkable comeback.

Despite the fact that some of them make goodbye threads and get banned, the staff has, thankfully, been quite forgiving in those cases if the person in question asks to be allowed back.
