So, I was reading on the forums and I saw agent saying that he could easily afford to lose a few potions and a sharpness I Diamond Sword every time he pvps. So I was wondering: how do people get so rich they can chat with /ad, and bid 20K on a whim? Not to mention giving away 3 stacks of glowstone...

Please give some tips--i've been playing since august 2011 and i only have one realm and 5000rc :/

thanks, dlgn

You put a few dollars into the 'Selling RC' threads and come out one of the richest of the server.
Problem solved.

And I thought that was a huge economic downfall. Silly me.

I'm gonna go with hax, stealing, and general underhandedness.

"Oh no no, I'm sure I paid you for all this GS and Diamonds."
"No you didn't."
"Yeah I did, bye."

If you desire to earn a good deal of credits, I would say try big building projects.
I've been working on my cathedral for a few months now and it has earned me a couple hundred thousand credits so far.

Don't know about you, but I enjoy grinding for credits. It's addictive, mining.

I've got a decent amount of diamonds, all mined myself - Get yourself some eff 1 diamond picks, borrow a fortune 3, and you can easily get stacks of diamonds, with a bit of luck, of course.

If you can't afford picks or whatever, mine sand, preferably with diamonds shovels. (10 diamond shovels will last ages on sand especially if you get unbreaking I on them.) You will earn 6,000 Cr/hour mining sand, and can then sell the sand either as sandstone or smelt it.

Mining for diamonds/coal/iron is a very good thing to do. I love mining, it's quite addictive...

Anyhow, I didn't really mean I could lose iron/diamond sword all the time. Of course dying with that is still a decent loss, but that's the fun in it. Spending credits on PVP.

Another decent idea is grinding for good picks like fortune 3, or a good sword like sharpness IV or V. It's luck, and you will get bad enchantments, but it's just very simple clicking, you can browse forums/twitter/facebook etc while you grind - Arcane grinder is free to use, only takes an hour/15 minutes to get to lvl 50. ;)

Hope this helped!

I guess I count as rich... only about 50K in the bank now, but I also own 25 realms, so about 300K net worth plus materials like diamonds/GS. Here are a few random thoughts.

I've worked on a few big projects, and although they are nowhere near as large as the kind of stuff Sir Dave builds, I've gotten a few tens of thousands of credits without even focusing on the money. Compared to mining, I find this to be more satisfying, since aside from the credits you end up with a nice building rather than a hole in the ground. I think the subway is pretty much finished now, but if someone decides to add a new line you could volunteer to help with it--clearing out a 3x3 tunnel for the railway over 1 KM would net you 4500 credits.

I've earned similar amounts of credits with some terraforming projects--I flattened a few desert realms to Y = 65 (read: not a great amount of change from the natural heights of deserts) and replaced the 65 layer with dirt; this earned me back most of the credits that I had spent to buy the realms in the first place.

Of course, grinding / strip-mining is a surefire way to earn credits, and it's easier than building since you don't have to plan out buildings. I personally find such tasks to be mind-numbingly dull, but apparently Agent enjoys it, so you could try that out as well.

Also, selling excess items can help supplement whatever other income you have. I don't like to spend much time trying to sell things, but I keep an eye on the trade forum and in-game buyers. If I have an items someone wants, and I don't have any immediate plans to use it, I'll typically offer to sell it to them for some quick cash. You could potentially make a lot of money by trying to buy items and resell at a profit, but the 10% tax/goldsink would make that difficult, so I'd recommend sticking with only selling items you already have on hand. At the very least, avoid losing too much money on trading--don't buy items that you could obtain with a bit of work on your own.
