Hello Minerealm

Before I propose this idea, I would like to point out that i do not know how much coding would have to be done for this to work, and if the idea is unreasonable then please just say.

A new chat tool for alliances, to bring realms together and give advantages to alliances in realm wars.

The head of the alliance should be able to monitor which realms are in the channel and are able to listen and talk. Just like in realms, the chat options should be.

/Alliance Realms (brings up a list of the realms in the chat)
/Alliance Invite "RealmName"
/Alliance Kick "RealmName"
/Alliance Online (see which realm members are online in the alliance channel)

Once again I do not know how difficult this would be to implement, but please take the idea into consideration.

IIRC the whole alliance thing is just meta-game, its not actually in the code. Intelli would have to add alliances to the code first, then add the chat, which would probably be a solid bit of work. Other than that though, i don't see anything wrong with this idea.

I voted no because I don't think that the survival server needs any more plugins.

Not necessarily. he could just make a chat called alliance chat that anyone could make, and invite realms into the chat.

That would work, but then it also would not be alliance chat. It would just be several more chat channels that you join or leave in realms instead of individuals.

Now the question: how hard would this be to code and how long? Also, how much lag would it make?

I would imagine it wouldn't be too terribly hard to code since intelli has done multiple channels before that could be joined/left. I also doubt there would be any significant lag from it as chat shouldn't generate enough lag to even be noticeable compared to other things like chunk generation, mob ai/spawning or keeping track of dropped items. Chat should be one of the things that has almost no effect on lag at all.
