Looking through the forums it seems that everyone is jumping on the Faction Bandwagon.
"Cities" pop-up every time I get on, or I see something on the forums everyday with someone announcing their new faction of two people.
It's generally disconcerting to new players to come on to a server and find there is over 9000 different factions for them to join with a lot of the members belonging to five or six other "factions".
A Faction is a tight-knit close group of friends that run it. The reason when you join a REAL Faction, and the leaders want you to be a committed part of that faction, is because they don't want you using them for resources until you have 10000 credits to buy your first realm and go out and start your own faction.
If you are a new player and you want to gain the full experience from this server, join a faction, and stay there. Not for a few days, and not until you gain 10000 credits. You stay there until you feel as if the faction doesn't need you anymore, and you can buy yourself at LEAST a 3x3 plot (9 realms), and you have a replacement for yourself within the faction.
The reason factions are so quantitative and not qualitative is because of the growing number of newbies that join a faction, use their resources, leave, and make their own "faction".
The server needs to be saved from this.
If you are opening a new faction, and you see that there is a larger faction doing the EXACT SAME THING. Consider MERGING your faction, with theirs.
This will reduce the number of bad factions and get rid of all the little places that don't make it, and turn a couple into large flourishing factions that EVERYONE can be apart of, and when you think of a member in that faction, you think of the entire faction and what they can do for you as a whole, instead of having seven different groups of people doing different things within the faction.
-My own 2 cents-
PVP Faction
Rich Faction
Building Faction
------
3 Spawn Points on the map currently: Roanoke, Abyssus, and Spawn City.
------
Make each Spawn Point a different faction, or have a faction based out of one of the Spawns.
-ending my own 2 cents-
Less bad, little factions.
More large, great factions.
Merge, do not create new ones.
