But speaking of work vs reward, that is such a laughable point. We're playing MINECRAFT for God's sake. Spending hours upon hours building big ol' structures that are really quite useless, and we get nothing but to sit back and smile at our creation. Ever thought that the same kind of gratification might be enough for someone after coding a bit of Java to implement a new idea? Sense of accomplishment. Either way, the only person it's up to to comment on the difficulty of coding is Intelli.

Icarus, they're not trolling, they are stating their point. If they think you are an idiot, that is their point, not trolling. Trolling is constantly trying to put someone down, make them feel bad. I do think they are a little off-topic of what you wanted, but they are giving a valid point. You want the discussion to be about the advantages and disadvantages of vip, yet they're talking about coding.

In my own opinion, it is practically having 2 realms, which will never happen. Why don't they just join that realm if they like it so much?


PS: icarus, please log off. You're not making your situation any better. Just log off and coma back in some 10 hours when you've finally found a worthwhile idea and way to present that idea.

So you are implying that the time it'd take Intelli to program this petty modification is worthless? I dunno, he seems to be working on things far more important than this right now.

And Intelli receives enough gratification programming everything, and as we've said multiple times, he doesn't seem to support this idea anyway.

Cerevox did a good job dissecting your idea. He isn't "off-topic" he is just "off-level" with what you are thinking about. By that I mean that you aren't clicking with what he is trying to tell you. And he brings up good points:

That is actually one of the best reasons I have ever heard. How on earth are we supposed to get an idea to work if we can't even code it? Logic check.

I think people need to learn to address the idea in question. Tell me what you think of the idea, not your massive foresight into the difficulty of the implementation, or your references to similar requests or any of that. Those things have nothing to do with the idea.

Most people here are doing a great job addressing the question. You posted an idea, Cerevox is ripping it to shreds. And you believe that this is "unproductive idiocy?"

We are writing what we think of the idea. Believe me, there's no need for you to play forum moderator here. We are all quite capable of staying on topic, it's just that some people chose to attack the idea rather than endorse it.

We simply HAVE to give massive foresight to the difficulty of it; like I said earlier, if we can't code it, it won't happen. These things have everything to do with the idea.

And for the record, I gave the "insight" you were looking for on my first post in this idea anyway

I think this idea would be good because I have had my fair share of greifing whenever my realm was on public so i could work with other people. I wish intelli would post his opinions on these though.

Icarus when will you learn that disagreeing with someone and pointing out why it wont work isn't trolling? If anyones a troll here its you. You post stupid ideas here five times a week just because it would make it easier for you. You keep saying that it doesn't matter how hard it is to install, well hate to break it to you but it does matter how hard it is. Now don't post another one of your ideas unless you think it through next time.

I am totally cool with people copying me. After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Regardless though, I don't think icarus understand that we are attacking his idea, he really, honestly believes that his idea should float in a void unconnected to anything else, while we are tying it into many other things it would effect.

Its simply a difference of viewpoints. And as a simple statement of fact icarus' viewpoint just happens to be wrong while mine is right. No reason to be mean to him for being wrong. However, this idea is dead and unless he can push the idea forward on its own merits and not "QQ they are trolling me wannhhhhhh" he should drop it, unless he likes looking like a moron.

Icarus, dismissing the objections doesn't work, you have to prove all the objections wrong in order to win. Claiming they are out of bounds just makes you look petty and like a sore loser.
