We're past whether he did it - he placed the offensive sign which according the server rules, warrants a ban. The issue is now whether a permanent ban from the server for placing a sign is justified.

I just said he put the sign down on his on free will and no one made him.
I don't think he should be unbanned.If he does work for a non-profit government contractor then why would he have acted so childishly toward the latency issues,I get frustrated with the lad problems but i don't make offensive signs in spawn because of it .He broke the rules and a ban is a ban.He deserves his punishment and clearly doesn't want to be apart of the community since he says he has been here a month and these are his only post in the forums.Although he does show a higher intellectual level than most of the others who have tried to make a successful ban appeal he knows what he did a he deserves the ban.

I do admit he shows intelligence, despite his lapse in judgement... Still, the rules need to be followed. I honestly am wondering if he read the rules thread, at this point in time...

I'd suggest in this case, where it violates the rules but is relatively minor (in comparison to stealing a stack of diamonds, or pouring lava all over a house... whatever) there should be a warning and 24 hour ban. If someone is dumb enough to do it again, they should be banned forever. Seems more reasonable to keep the one-time offenders around.

Aside from that, how is it that mods see that he placed a sign that he originally didn't admit to, but they can't see who steals someone's items? Isn't everything logged?

Well we can do both actually as far as logged not 100% sure. The signs are a mod that intelli created to see who placed them. As far as someone stealing we can see thier inventory but checking everyone's inventory isn't a picnic you know lol

Without fail, every single user that fornatted their osts like a formal letter when attempting to get unbanned have invariably been completely remorseless for their actions, or just blazingly stupid.
It happened with the people that hacked invisibility and griefed the castle formally known as the PvP castle, the "I'm 12 and my brother is 17 and he beats me up everyday and I'm 12" guy, and catsfuzz (Wishful thinking there).
The only thing he is sorry about is the fact he was caught, and he was basically lying about not knowing he was banned when he very clearly did something against the rules, then had the audacity to leave a sign behind.
