On creative most people want it for the explosion, but not the damage, so couldn't the world leader give out special TNT privileges to some members of that world, who would have to be trusted to not use excessive amounts, so greatly reducing the risk of lag. Plus if they were to lag it then they could have their TNT privileges removed again.

EDIT: Sorry to slightly necro, but it seemed like this topic is still warm and I want to use my TNT cannon :P

I also have lots of sand and gun powder and it would be useful to be able to blow up some land. The people who would set off TNT to create lag probably couldn't get a hold on that much TNT.

If this like MANY MANY MANY other threads whom have tried to pass this does pass explosions would have to be off for only one reason tnt cannons to other realms.

Maybe add a feature so only 1 tnt can be blow every sec? Also, cannons wouldn't work since TNT cannot activate TNT, and even if you manually activated both, they can only explode in your own realm.. not really effient for griefing I'd say..

Cannons don't always rely on TNT setting off other TNT, the best ones use redstone circuits to activate the propellant simultaneously, and then you activate the TNT.

Aha, I see. Still... Maybe it would be possible to make it so that TNT can only be blown up in the creaters realm?

I honestly doubt that there is a way it can work in survival, as I could very easily make a sand cannon following the same basic principles, allowing people to shoot sand into any area, including protected realms.

The problem with TNT is that even in small amounts it can cause lag, and it has the potential to cause a lot of problems, even if it isn't directly through an explosion :P

Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome.
