let's also develop mortgages for realms so noobies don't get looted. stop trying to make a game into real life. it's just more bullshit that wouldn't add anything to the experience except more maintenance.

Don't forget the block insurance, arbor tax ( for those who have a lack of trees on their realm), and the life insurance policies for if someone should die on their realm...

Taxes would do nothing to get the server more money. Taxes are paid in credits--a fictional currency that exists only in the game--and server upkeep, believe it or not, is paid in real-world money.

Thanks for at least being honest and saying that you just want to get a realm that someone else is forced to lose at spawn--it's nice to have an accurate view of how greedy you are in assessing ideas that would help you.

So in order for people to own land on a game, they must keep up a constant flow of real money donations in order not to lose their land and/or items?

People can boost their realm count in the rankings by going out and buying up public land.... Members with high credit balances can afford dozens on dozens of them far enough away to never be remembered again, this needless holding of realms prevents people who want to live out in far regions unable to do so...

We don't want features that increase private land. More public land just means more space for others.
Reuse space. If something is built on a realm and you like it... sure you can buy another realm and build something else, but if the process is repeated, we just have the same buildings staying up for months with more land for others being used. Tax would decrease this from happening.

This taxation per realm idea would crucify players such as me, and possibly others who mainly acquire credits through hard work, mining and building. The number of plots I own has been built up slowly by focusing on these activities. Now I worked pretty hard to get Turves up to the size it is today, inorder to have the room needed to start building on a large scale. I'm just not sure how I would be able to maintain such an large number of plots if I was charged a tax on each. Unless Intelli also implements a system where by I can charge everyone who has building privs and thereby rents from me.
I can't say that I would be infavour of this proposal.

Yep. It's funny how whenever I say something about an upcoming feature, it gets posted as an idea/suggestion a day or so later.
