Suggestion:
Make a chest in each single trade room.

Why?
Makes trading full inventories of cobblestone/ dirt a lot faster. (shift click instead of dropping)

we tried that. i think people would break the walls of the trade room and enter the chest before people used the trade room and steal once they started the trade.

That was how it was in the old days. People were breaking the walls and opening the chests before the broken block re-apeared. Many people lost items this was so they were removed.

/kill is not very good because noobs could be waiting outside the door and run in as soon as the person /kill's. Trust me, noobies wait outside the door of the trade room often.

That would work very nicely.

Alternatively, extend the trade rooms outward from the main room and place the chest farther from the wall (so that it can be reached from the pressure plates, but not from the other side of the wall 3 blocks away). Expanding the rooms wouldn't disrupt the rest of the spawn area, since the trade zone is below ground anyway.

In either case, this idea seems like it would be easy enough to implement and might be somewhat useful for large trades.

this is the best idea i've seen, man i miss trade room chests!
