So basically I was wondering if you guys think a realm-owner should be able to toggle TNT to be explode-able in his/her own realm. This way its easier to clear out bigger areas or dig holes fast. I know I personally end up with alot of sand and gunpowder, and I have nothing to use it for..
Maybe toggling tnt should toggle creepers too, I'm not sure, since it could be both annoying and helpful.

This. I'd love it for decorative purposes, or if they explode like a creeper and don't do any structural damage, but still look cool, like if used in fireworks for example.

What part of the explosion actually causes the lag? I'm assuming its the effects of the explosion, rather than the end result. I think TNT in private realms would be awesome for mining, but disable the extras that come along with the explosion that cause lag (the animation possibly) and just have it insta-burst the blocks after a few seconds. None of that fancy cinematic explosion stuff. Kind of like how creepers work here. But with the added environmental damage.

I like this idea but I think people would set off tons of TNT at once, which would cause lag. I think that's why it's disabled.

Each explosion causes a couple hundred line-of-sight detections. By itself, this isn't a large issue. However, clusters of TnT (and compounded velocity modifications) increases the processing requirements exponentially.

I do miss the rage I would get from a newly formed crater blown into the side of my newly finished project. Not sarcasm, if it wouldn't disturb the ping so much I would really like this implemented. Sadly, it cannot be so :( . YET!
