We should talk a bit about PVP... I a possible flaw in this plan is, like the nether, it will just be dominated by people in diamond armor and potions, etc.

For example when I first stared PVP on the server, I was dreadful. I never entered the nether in fear of good pvpers. Yes, I may of been a douche by toggling PVP on and off, but it allowed me to get some experience pvping and gain confidence.

What I'm trying to say is while this will be awesome, it will be even more difficult for new guys to start pvping, especially those who can't get enchanted gear or even diamond gear.

The problem is when the pvp is no longer about pvp but turns into pure harassment because testosterone driven teenagers are unable to control their need to piss other people off and feel good about themselves. Harassment, ofcourse, is officially something you're not supposed to do according to the server rules but it's a pretty grey area when it comes to excessive pvp and therefor there is not much that can be done about it.

So yeah, if you were to make public realms always pvp, people would harass the living crap out of each other. It's a shame that people tend to do unfriendly things with the excuse 'it's not against the rules'. Just because something is not against the rules, doens't mean you should do it.

But hey, welcome to the Internet. I should be used to it by now really...

I completely agree. Not only that, but unless I'm mistaken, the hobby of pvp'ing is mostly taken up by the rich, 300K+ people who have pretty much done everything and wanna have some fun hitting people. Maybe there should be a good pvper who will help out people who want to be one for a small amount of credits, like a coach or something, or a group of inxperienced pvp'ers who know who just battle each other without the fear of 'they might be too good and kill me in a second'. Just my thought on this, I have no experience in pvp whatsoever.

I completely agree. Actually, B3ast did that for me once in Next Man us. Unfortunately, my match was cancelled. Iw would pvp, if it weren't for the potion spammers.

What we need is more people to take on PVP. If you seriously want to start PVPing, you NEED to have credits and really, a grinder that you can use all the time.

That's why less and less people are seen PVPing, because it takes ages for them to get the expensive potions and most importantly, the protection 4 diamond armor.

At this point, diamond are nothing to me, potions are nothing to me. Only thing I ever run out of is enchanted armor. I've got a good grinder, so all I need to worry about is the time it takes to grind.

Now for a guy who's a bit less well off? I remember when a set of diamond armor was EXPENSIVE to me on MineRealm. I'd try to make it last as long as possible, and this is just against mobs.

Now, it doesn't really matter to me.

So let's say a PVPer does end up getting full enchanted gear along with potions. The good PVPers who have 1k+ kills will DESTROY them. People say there is no skill - but if you don't have experience, you will be destroyed by those who do. I've fought against people who have never PVPed on the server, or rarely pvp.. Truth is, it's easy as hell to fool them and destroy 'em.

What I did, is pvp'd in iron armor with sharp 1, basic potions, and built up experience.

During the rare times that I PVP these days, I bring no armor, an iron sword with a level 1 enchant, a single speed II potion, and 4 loaves of bread

Oddly enough, I sometimes get a decent number of kills... aside from the few dedicated PVPers, most people neglect to bring weapons with them to the nether.
