Earlier i was mining and i had around 50 iron and 26 diamond and my tools and as i was mining a block i died. instantle all ten hearts and when i went back there was nothing no lava around. BTW i was level 26 at the time.
mostly i want to know why i died but if my stuff was returned i would be greatfull.

thats whati thought but some of my stuff would have been there plus i would have heard the explosion and ssssssing

This happened to a friend of mine as well, standing in broad daylight, with no mobs apparent...

I told him it was probably a creeper and to move on. Its tough luck really, but its a shame it happened none-the-less.

it just took a while to get to level 26 the xp on this server is weird only one orb per mob

That one orb is actually the full amount of experience, we just use a plugin that clusters items and XP orbs into stacks to reduce lag.
