They can steal them because they are allowed to. The nether has no protection for a reason you know?

There are almost no rules in the nether.

Stealing is different to griefing, and its completely fine to take someones items from a chest in the nether, as well as take their nether warts from their farms. Its also fine to destroy blocks in order to do so.

Completely destroying something of someones for no reason is all that constitutes griefing in the nether.

I understand the chests thing, but in the Overworld, harvesting someone else's crops constitutes as grieving, am I wrong?

The rules of the over world do not apply AT ALL, in almost any cases in the nether.

I personally have had to relocate in order to evade nether wart thieves. If you want to farm them yourself, your going to have to live with it.

Stealing peoples crops in the nether is OK, 'nuff said.

I was thinking of making my own nether wart farm, and I had a few questions.

1) will nether wart grow if I'm in the Overworld?
2) my portal is synced with Kingofturves', and I was wondering if I needed permission to make a farm next to it.

2) No I don't mind if you build a nether wart farm in the nether next to the portal, aslong as you don't mind sharing access to the netherwart.^^
I reccomend PM'ing on the forums though if you wish to disclosure important infomation such as the location of nether wart farms.
Nether wart farms are difficult to defend and keep safe due to the lack of block protection and PVPing in the nether.

Just dig down, and make a secret room. Make it hard to find unless you have Xray hacks. Therefore anyone who does find it may be banned for X-ray.

Okay, last question. Can't I build a house/structure over my farm? Destroying it will be griefing, right? I once saw a building labeled "This is not a real nether stronghold. Do not grief". That means that some rules are enforced, right? Could someone please just tell me what is and what isn't considered griefing in the nether?
