From things like not being able to utter the word "damn" to not having a map without chunks all mangled to having friends accused of doing thing they weren't to people acting like a bunch of children, it's not a shock that the community is a bit of a mess right now. For me personally it's a nice stable server to play on, but the community at large is crap, I'm not talking about anyone in particular, but just look at chat at any given point, and find a reason not to shut it off.

Sorry if that seemed a bit mean and ranty, but that's how I feel about the place at the current time.

Of course always just my .02 people are idiots on the internet not much gonna change that.

I'm not always nice to idiots in chat, but when it comes to valuable players that are not prebiased on me, I can be a nice guy 99% of the time. ( not a made up statistic )

Like I said, I'm not calling people out, and instance was i was on for a short time the other day and there was an argument going on, and it just came across as abrasive, esp veteran and mods coming down on another player. Just made me log off.

Having only played on Minerealm for 4 or 5 months now, I might not be the best judge of the state of affairs on our server. Then again, while it may seem like a bit of a slump, I think we are actually back on our way up.

Look at how many cheaters and dupers were purged a few weeks and months back, now it seems like the economy is stabilizing. Look at the handful of flamers and trollers that have recently been banned (but still troll the forums), now the only issues in chat are the Newbies. PvP has been tweaked in the Nether and it looks like there are more tweaks to come, promoting more of a sense of "fair play".

It is those of us that currently play that set the tone of the community. There are a some amazing personalities out there in the realms beyond Spawn, creative builders and fun pvp'ers, all going about their business. They may not stand out like some of the former personailites because they are not arguing in chat or the forums, they aren't forming coalitions of duplicators, and they avoid the drama that felled former players.

I agree, a stronger sense of community is important, but I think it's something that will continue to return as the server develops even further.

This is going to become a huge hate thread and i don't want to be involved.

I must agree, its been a shame to lose some great personalities in the past, but we all move on. No one can play Minecraft their entire lives, and if you expect other people to do so just for you, you are self centered.
