Hello! I thought of something fairly useful for MineRealm players. Specifically those who own realms. t adds the ability to password chests in an owned realm. This is for both realm owners and members. This suggestion will:
A. Allow for better management of items.
B. Keep newer/less trusted players in your realm from taking things.
C. Make Staff members' jobs easier.
The double protected chests need to meet the following requirements to be passworded:
1. Be in a purchased realm.
2. Be placed by a member in the realm.
Time to flesh the idea out a bit:
General
- To be passworded, the chest must be placed by the player trying to put the password on the chest.
- Other people cannot put a password on a chest you placed.
- Will cost a set amount of money to put a password on a chest.
Realm System Incorporation
- If you are not a member of the realm the passworded chest is in and you know the password, you still can't open the chest.
- Chests can only be passworded in a purchased realm.
This would allow for a double protection on chests so people that you don't trust in your realm such as new players/members cannot steal things from your chest. It would also allow for better management of items by making people without the password use less of the items. Also, Staff members would not have as hard of a job because they would not need to check chests in private realms to see who stole the items.
But with every idea, there are pros and cons. Cons for this idea are:
- People could forget the password.
- You would need to take items from the chest to give to people without the pass, which would make the process of building or mining slower.
- Slow-witted people would have trouble with the system.
But with most complications, there is a simple fix.
1. Password reset. Can only be done by the person who placed the chest.
2. Well, I said most. I can't think of a fix for this one.
3. Have a forum post that explains the system.
I think this would be a great idea for the server because people would not lose items and staff would not have as hard a job. Thanks for the consideration.
