Recently I have noticed an increase in lagg. When I say /home it seems like an X-ray you can look down but sometimes it laggs so much that I fall and die I did that with a diamond pick and lost it.

I believe this is a bug in the Minecraft server. 99.9% of the time when I do a /home I get a giant world hole. Every time I get the world hole I just immediately log out and then back in since it's the only way to be safe. I haven't died once as a result of the holes. It has been that way for months for me and my computer is quite powerful.

Yes, that is exactly what happens to me I tried and it Wont happen in a place with not many bricks above u

90% of the time this is due to your internet speed and server lag, the rest of the time it's because of distance from the physical server.
(plain english: If you life far from the server and have slow internet this will happen a lot)
