Intelli made the server for "all ages" so your rant is pretty moot.

It's the ones that can't go for five minutes with out calling someone something that need to learn to grow up, not the ones being insulted.

Great way to show our staff how much we need even tighter restrictions and moderation on speech; on the forums and in game. This thread is contaminated with banned players still commenting on it regardless of the fact they will never be coming back to this server just trolling because they have nothing better to do now that their careers on MR have ended. I greatly appreciate the comments regarding empathy towards River's account, it helps to show that we aren't all a bunch of trolling adolescents. Empathy examples.) Vailure and Laserminer. I am glad to see that there are still logical people who still accept an opinion without having to take extreme bias towards it when there is no definitive solution. I personally don't even know why people who are banned can still come on these forums and troll people, but I am requesting a lock on this thread and/or requesting forums bans for multiple people. Being a player with no judicial power my word obviously has less effect, but just keep it up people and soon it won't only be my voice being heard.

Hope you don't mind if I take my Fortune III pickaxe to your wall of text, but the only banned player on this entire thread who has trolled inadvertently is Cjbdiesel. So unless you're referring to Cjbdiesel himself as multiple thread contaminating trolls, I think that bit was inaccurate.

The only other banned player who has commented was Ramien, and he hasn't said anything positive or negative.

No, not really. Name calling on minerealm is minimal with help bot banning the extremely offensive words. Minerealm is the cleanest server I know in this aspect. The only way it can get extremely bad is through messages or when a staff member isn't there to stop somebody from using the phrase 'stupid idiot' (or something like that) a bunch of times.

True, but the key word here is "some". Some people want a full-map wipe, this won't happen. Some people want many different things, but they won't happen. I admit, I don't enjoy when people call me an idiot or etc., but I don't take it as very offensive. I feel happy knowing that the alternative, a cluster of swears, could be said to me at any time, but isn't. (because of on minerealm's rules)

Name calling can be taken very offensive

First thing I want to point out, don't use "very". Next, I see your point, but so can intelligent comments on reasons why a person's suggestions or ideas are completely inadequate. I know that bugs me most of all, when people insult with just the right sentence, doing far more damage then "you are a retard", or something along those lines. If people take silly taunts so offensive, then maybe we need to set the standards a bit higher, but I don't think it's too much of a problem.

Even if you are in a argument with a person you should NOT use this kind of language.

Generally speaking, the easiest way to win an argument is through intelligence or just plain letting loose with enough bad language to leave the opponent speechless. Obviously, the second method would get you smacked down by staff or help bot. So, if the first reason is key in minerealm chat, then let others use insults while they get put down by smart people, and the name-caller is the one at a loss here, not the other way around.

Correct. However, sometimes, you must settle with an imperfection rather then being upset, because name-calling will be an imperfection anywhere on the internet or a place where people can talk to others not face-to-face.

My bottom line:
I see how and why you are not tolerating name calling. I actually agree with you, despite all my above comments. The reason for my above comments are that you are coming at this the wrong way, and that there is nothing to be done about name-calling, except what has already been done to make it the exact opposite of a severe issue.
