I was thinking and I think you are the devil.
You show all the signs of being the devil:
1.you have a scary beard.
2.you have a cat.
Yea, sorry the list is so long...

Lol, he barely has a beard, but I totally agree with you on the cat thing

Lol, I find this funny only because five sixes in a row has no religious or spiritual importance to any faith, but people are going to freak out anyhow.

What cirjohn is saying is that we need more "6" to get spiritual meaning.

I have seen license plate number 11111, 66666 and 77777.

No, what he's saying is that there are too many sixes in a row. Three sixes = "the number of the beast" according to some sort of numerology (i.e. a code for converting between numbers and letters/words). So adding additional sixes would either tack on some gibberish to the end of the phrase, or else change the meaning of the phrase altogether (not sure how that system works).

^^This.

The reason "666" is considered the "number of the beast" requires a little explanation.

The first thing you need to know is that ancient hebrew scholars considered the number 7 to represent the divine perfection (god and the heavens). Because of this, the number 6 came to represent a lack of perfection.

The second thing you need to know is about repetition. The human mind considers any repetition to make a thing important. Ancient man manifested this in many languages by repeating something that was to be stressed. Saying a thing once just represented the thing. Saying a thing twice made it "greater" or "more" than others of it's kind. Saying a thing thrice made it "greatest" or "most". This speach pattern is so ingrained in the human psyche that it is still used in common speach today - "No, no, no..that dude wasn't big, he was BIG big."

These two idealogies acted together to create "666". The number can be interpereted as both "the most lacking in perfect" and "the closest to perfection." Due to this dual interpretation, the number 666 is a fitting representation of the devil, a.k.a. Lucfier, the Light Bringer, greatest among the heavenly host, leader of the rebellion against God, the outcast, and lord of Hell.

Thanks for the explanation! I knew about the meanings of 6 and 7, but I didn't know what the double and triple meant in terms of comparative and superlative terms.
