How about a subway map with a news ticker on the side like the twitter thing on this website, so we wouldn't need a separate system for that.

The problem with having a tutorial on the map, is that how do we actually get new players maps? They would have to work a bit to get the materials, and by then they would probably not benefit from a tutorial anymore. A subway map would also be nice, but I don't think it's the best use of this opportunity. Either some sort of map of nearby realms, or having it sync with a news article that we put up every week. Maybe we could even use to for a more extensive advertisement service, like someone pay X amount of credits to advertise their build with coords and such.

With regard to the subway map, I was thinking about suggesting something website based for this rather then map based ingame.

You could have a website map showing all locations, directions etc etc...

I for one got lost maybe 6 times on the subway just today because I didnt know where to go.

could it change as you walked with it, uniquely for each player? Perhaps it could display squares of public/ private realms nearby, and display the owner's name of the realm you are standing in.

Maybe also highlight realms on your map that are owned by the same person who ownes the one you are in.
Maybe "secondary highlight" realms that are owned by all members of the realm that you are standing in.

What should the "zoom level" be? At first guess, 5x5 realms?

If it was like this, it would be a useful way to see nearby realms owned by a group of players. Also an easy way to find public realms.

-another idea: how about it could also display which realms nearby are close to expiring? Like if they are within a week of going public, it could show the number of days until the realm goes public, in the bottom right corner of each realm on your map. Something like 5!

Maybe a kind of newspaper would be nice, a short summary of what is going on, planed events etc.

This! That would be pretty awesome. A subway map would be nice but imo, it's not needed as you can already read signs on where to go.

I don't know who all played Pokemon Platinum, Diamond, or Pearl but that thin on the bottoms screen. Poketch or something like that would be cool.

Here are some examples of displays.
Block Counter: Counts the number of block you have placed and the number you have broken.
Distance/ Coordinate Counter: Gives your coordinates or number of blocks walked.
5x5 Realm Map: Shows 125 Blocks In all directions of you with purchased realms surrounded in red and public realms in blue.
Way Point Marker: Helps you remember coordinates and gives the number of blocks away in your X and Z values.

Those are just some ideas if it gets implemented.
I personally wish to keep the map the way it is now and not change to much.

I like the idea of a "realm map" like the one that used to be available on the site, to show public/private realms nearby as well as the owners of any private realms.

I say that it should be used as a from of either a newsletter, or a subway/city map. And when I say city, I don't mean just spawns. I mean that there could be registered cities located on the maps.
