Hey guys! Im building a new computer and I would like some input. I wanted to stay around $1500 but I have already gone over. Oops oh well.... So I was told i needed more than 650w so I ended up spending about 70 more on a 750w instead. Also I wanted an HD monitor. So here it is and please comment with suggestions and ideas. Thanks

The i5 2500k is a beast. I have mine OC'd to 4.5 stable on a Thermaltake Frio. Although If I were starting fresh, I'd just bite the bullet and go straight for the i7 2600k. Higher overclock headroom if that's a route you plan on going down.

Good choice of video card too. ;] Gotta love that EVGA lifetime warranty.
Once Nvidia's newest cards come out and the 580's drop in price. I'm going to go SLI. Gotta run Metro 2033 maxed out.

I think 650 would be enough for what you're putting together unless you plan on overclocking. Then yeah, i'd go for the 750.

I bought a HX1000 off craigslist when I was in SoCal for around 220 used. Guy found it in an apartment, the previous renter left it there, works like a freaking charm. I'm also a total Corsair fanboy though. lol.

Pretty solid build overall. Is this your first?

It might be worth it to get the new i5-2550k, http://www.pcper.com/category/tags/i5-2550k although you really should wait the 2-4 months for the gen 3 ivy bridge procs.

If you wait on tech you'll wait forever, things are always better down the road.

I'm a long time AMD fan but with the current state of the bulldozer I might just end up building an Intel machine, ugh.

True, I bought an i5-2500k back in Oct, with that same argument, however you could stand to gain 15%-20% performance at the same price just by waiting a few months.

As for the monitor question, the one I linked before has a .2ms delay (lower is better for gaming), with 50,000,000:1 black contrast (higher is better, blacks appear blacker). The one I linked however omits speakers...not sure if that's an issue for you.

This is my first build on my own.. I used to have my buddy who worked at Intel help me pick my builds but I dont talk to him anymore. I do not plan on over clocking as I dont really know what im doing. I know how to put builds together but configing and tweaking I am not very experienced at so I guess ill stick with a 650 psu to save money. My question to you is will my COOLER MASTER GX 650w be enough for this system? I bought it for my old comp a few months ago. Also thank you alexrybicki. I will probably go with that monitor.

650psu is enough for just one 580gtx and the rest of the build, but if you plan on SLIing go with something higher.
