Religious Zeal Runs Rampant on MineRealm
In what can possibly be referred to as the most ironic place for the sprawl of religion, our great server of MineRealm is now home to 10 established religions, three of which having a defined Holy City.
The history of the religious roots of MineRealm go back to the earliest of Generations. In the early stages, the Church of the Rising Sun reigned as the most widely worshiped religion, but still the very practice of a religion was very uncommon in those days. In present times, the Church of the Rising Sun remains very underground, as its small number of worshipers remain relatively quiet.
The Kurachi Era rolled around and, with the establishment of the Holy Cathedral, Creepism had taken its rightful place as one of the most widely practiced and official MineRealm religions to date. Terranobyl lives as the Holy City of Creepism as the prophecy foretells in the Book of Explosions.
Shortly thereafter, a crazed group of geometry fanatics began the practice of worshiping the very basis of Minecraft: the cube. Cubism had made itself known with the construction of the first Legendary Cube, which turned out to be the first of many. Correction: Cube Island does not affiliate with Cubism.
Following the founding of Cubism, many smaller, less well-known religions popped up. The only legitimate religion following Cubism is the Temple of the Black Night, which devoutly and almost fanatically worships the preservation of Coal.
The MineRealm Lottery
A few days back, frequent player s292r left his mark on the forums as he proposed the intriguing idea of a lottery. In his defined system, a donation of one diamond as well as the selection of a number between 1 and 100 would enroll one in the lottery for either Survival or Creative server.
The controversy arose when he stated in his plan that he would be taking a small portion of the lottery revenue as his reward for organizing the system. The forum erupted into frustration as they questioned the legitimacy of the Lottery, and the plan itself fell into infamy. Many stated that they could very easily conduct the same system without taking any revenue for themselves. It is without question that this one bullet point remains the main issue players see in the system.
A well-discussed remedy is to have a Moderator or Admin commandeer the entire operation, thus increasing the amount of trust that can be placed into the system. s292r seems to be continuing the follow through with his lottery system in which the first winning number will be declared April 10th at 0:00 GMT. Whether you have faith in the system or not, one diamond may be worth testing the waters with on April 10th.
The Economy
IP Exchange Meets Further Growth
The Exchange saw another relatively active period this time around, moving slightly over 5,000 units. This is a significant drop-off from last period, but the fact that the Exchange itself was deactivated for most of the period translates into the lower units moved. We can expect further increase from this as the Exchange Center finishes its completion, thus allowing for the automated exchange of Influence Points.
The Economic Threshold saw a negligible increase this period. Although diamonds, iron, and coal are all healthily flowing into the Exchange, it still desperately lacks gold which would help sustain a truly versatile economy.
The Exchange Rating saw incredible improvement as the introduction of the ultra-valuable Obsidian brings another 25 points to the Rating's composite score. Obsidian is a unique material in the Exchange, as it is sold in units of 16 as opposed to the standard 64, and it does not suffer from the diminishing returns system that has recently been introduced to the I.P. Exchange.
Cobble and Logs were again the popular commodities this period as large construction projects across the globe were taking place. Many of the other industries, namely Flint, Wool, and Leather, remain mostly untouched, and so the prices of these commodities can be expected to increase in the near future.
Total Units Moved: 26 430
Units Moved This Period: 5 120 (-3 070)
Units Moved Last Period: 8 190
Economic Threshold (Raw Value): 173 (+2)
Exchange Rating: 232 (+26)

Legendary Projects
Terranobyl: Most Advanced Faction
From the beginning of Period 3, the Terranobilians have been working arduously to achieve technological advancements in the fields of Redstono-metrics as well as Cannoneering. With Maxee Technologies, a privately owned technological firm, spearheading Terranobyl's advancement in these fields, they have risen to a great height of Redstone and Cannon comprehension.
Among their achievements that they are willing to divulge is a well-designed and efficient Autocannon as well as a functioning Advanced Warning System, which is still in the developing stages.
The Space Race remains relatively untouched following the establishment of the Terranobyl Space Program as other fields of research are distracting their focus.
First MineRealm Fan-Fiction Underway
Panthers17nfl has recently begun writing the first MineRealm Fan-Fiction novel. Currently, the Prologue and Chapter 1 remain the only two completed pieces of this work, but further advancement into the book is said to be Panther's number one focus this week and weekend.
Already, it has attracted and appreciable fan-base. The plan is to fully finish the novel on MineRealm and then release it to other websites for interpretation and, hopefully, appreciation. It may also bring a more sophisticated player-base on to the server, which has long been desired by the current players. The book is always viewable in the Chat subtopic of the forums with the title The Source.
Politics
Tensions are felt by Terranobyl Against Pure Logic 2.0
The close proximity of these two realms has for long disturbed both realms' leaders. Though actual contact with the borders is still a long distance away, Terranobyl is becoming frustrated with the closing gap.
Territory issues have been a furious, bloody dispute between realms since the beginning of time. Spawn City is a prime example of a realm that is the result of closed borders; it rests present date at the dimensions of 300x160, dimensions which most other realms would not tolerate.
The Terranobilians are hoping for a peaceful resolution to this closing gap, but history has proven to us that territory is never a friendly conversation topic.
[UMAD] A Falling Empire?
The long-dreaded horde of [UMAD] warriors may be losing their ambitious, conquering spirit as activity within the alliance begins to decelerate. Alliance Leader and High Commander of Novabiscuit, Lightbulbs, has very much drawn away from his warring nature, as we have not witnessed a war declaration or hostile action from them in quite some time.
On the other hand, the [OUR] is expected to see a resurgence in activity as the technological advances of Terranobyl encourage the expansion of the alliance's influential horizion. Their diplomatic policies remain relatively peaceful in nature; their military's ability has yet to be put to the test.
Meanwhile, the [SIA] remains the most diplomatically stable alliance, as it remains neutral in the face of war, and poised in its organization. The populous republic allegedly operates as a republic based on population, but the decision-making appears to be a very much underground procedure.
Sports
LBG and Spleef Remain Completely Unheard Of
With the constant cancellation of Terranobyl's LBG tournaments, the refusal of Cube Island to host any further tournaments, and the lack of an established Spleef arena, the world of Sports seems relatively untouched these days. Terranobyl plans to, again, host a tournament late this weekend, but this remains unconfirmed.
Terranobyl Stadium Undergoing Reconstruction
The glorious, now 80,000 Cobble, still unfinished LBG stadium that sits proudly in Terranobyl is set to undergo reconstruction late this week. The goal of the reconstruction is to extend the field or add a second that would be compatible with Spleef. Other events and games are said to being compatible with this re-worked stadium, and so much more can be expected from this Old-Timer, Terranobyl Stadium.
Crafter's Corner (New!)
General Construction Tips
-When you are placing blocks in a risky position, hold shift. This prevents you from falling off of your block.
-When building a high wall, don't build it by single, high columns. You will inevitably have to drop down and this will obviously cause some damage to your health.
-Cubes are hideous! Don't ever construct a building that is a solid cube from the outside, no matter how professionally you used different materials to create it. Focus on the inside of the building first, and then build an appropriate, attractive outside to cover it.
Redstone Corner (New!)
Comprehensive Redstone Tutorial (Part 1)
This tutorial will be leading you through hopefully most aspects of the application of Redstone, Minecraft's circuit-making material. There is a multitude of things that can be created with the help of Redstone, and they will be covered in later tutorials.
First, there are a few basic components of most if not all Redstone circuits:
-Redstone Dust is the material that acts as the wire for the circuit. It can travel 15 blocks without being powered by an input device or Redstone Torch.
-Redstone Torches are a power source for Redstone circuits as well as being used in Inverters. A Redstone Torch placed on the same level as Redstone Dust will act as a power source for it. However, this is not the method to be used when actually extending a circuit.
-Levers, Buttons, and Pressure Plates are all sources of Input. Input refers to the command that you plug in to the circuit. This is what starts the function of the circuit.
-Inverters are intentionally designed to reverse what the Input leads to in the output. In example, a circuit has Input A which, when activated, leads to Output B being activated. If an inverter is inserted into the circuit, Input A, when activated, leads to Output B being deactivated. Inverters are also used to extend the circuit, which technically classifies them as Amplifiers.
Creating Circuit
Before actually beginning the construction of the circuit, it is usually the logical thing to do to define what it is you want the circuit to do. Let's say that we want a lever placed a few blocks from a Door to open that Door.
After you have defined the circuit's task, determine what problems could arise in construction. The most common is that hiding the Redstone becomes an issue, and so it is usually common to have door circuits installed under the Door itself to avoid conflict with ground level.
After you have planned this out, begin the construction. I apologize, we will not actually be constructing the circuit in this tutorial, but expect a picture guide for circuits to come!
Editor's Notes: I had to leave a few sections out this time, as the constant server downtime left me kind of low on stories to write about. I want to divert some of my time towards my Fan-Fic novel as I'm having a lot of fun with that, but you can still expect Player's Issue in the days to come.
Again, if you have any stories you'd like to submit, feel free to private message them to me and I will give you full credit for its writing. I am also planning on getting some outside help for the Redstone Corner, as my skills in this field, especially in teaching it, will likely begin to falloff in these next few tutorials.
See you next time!
