I don't get injured very much since I don't go outside often, so I'll just write my worst injury. A different kind of injury than most.

I had a tumor in my sinus when I was 8. They weren't sure how much it would bleed when they removed it, so they decided to preform a surgery before the main surgery to cut off the blood flow to it. The procedure basically entailed them running a tube inside of my artery starting at my thigh and going to my sinus (I would assume). They messed up, and I stroked (blood clot got shot into my brain... blood moves pretty fast). Three days in intensive care and four in the normal units, and then I was free to go... with a year of occupational therapy to help my left hand regain some use. They removed the tumor a month later though.

It regrew twice but now it seems to be gone. My hand will always be half of what it used to be though, along with some other minor issues with the left side of my body.

Lemme see here....

When I was ~10, I was at my family cabin (log, in the woods) cooking breakfast. I was stirring the grits and they were extremely hot and some splashed onto my left thumb. I went to the sink to rinse it off, only to find out that our water had been turned off because they happened to be working on the water line right that moment. I ended up scraping it off with a dry sponge and putting some aloe on it (i actually had an aloe plant above the sink.) I had a blister about half the size of my fist by the end of the day when I finally let my dad pop it. Now I have a scar from cooking grits and no matter what I do, I cannot deny being a southern girl.

I also cracked my head open while inner-tubing several summers ago. The doctor who was stitching me up asked how old I was. I said "I start my senior year of high school next week." For that reason (and that reason only) he used staples in my hairline and stitches on my forehead. Otherwise, I'd have had a partially shaved head in my senior pictures. :?

Ok, so two that stand out for me.

1) Fell off my bike riding along the seafront. Straight over the handle bars because the front wheel locked up. Busted my elbow and popped a blood vessel in my hip. Yes, it HURT.

2) Getting a backy on the back of a bike and got my heel stuck in the chain and gears. Ripped the back of my heel out. Went to A'n'E - Doctor said I was lucky. If it wern't for my trainers, I would have ripped into my heel even further and would have hit the tendon in the back of my foot - Yikes!

Oh that reminds me. Went offroad biking when I was ~12 with my family. Rode onto a raised portion with a really shallow ditch on each side (About ~4-6 inches deep). Lost balance, front tire went into the ditch, I tried to straighten, I fell over, handlebars twisted and jammed me right in the gut as the bike fell over. Had a nasty bruise/scrape there and a slightly over-nervousness of bikes for the next couple years.

I actually haven't had many major injurys that I can think of. I've never broken a bone, I've only been stung by a bee once, and I've only had 1 cavity. There are really only a few accidents I remember that are worth posting.

Once I was on my bike and I crashed directly into a wall. The handlebars turned sideways and hit me directly in a very sensitive area. I then fell over onto my side. Not fun. :?

I had swine flu for a few weeks and was vomiting all over the place.

When I was little I fell down a flight of stairs and broke open my face right above my eye, I didn't need stiches but I still have a scar.

When I was a baby I had this thing called Rotavirus so badly I had to go to the hospital for two nights. According to wikipedia it's "the most common cause of severe diarrhea in infants" xD

Comment on whole thread: Good job bragging about your accidents guys.

Probably the most life threatening expirience I have ever had was choking on a large-sized sweat heart. I only survived because it landed facing horizontal. If it loged in my throat verically, I would probably be dead, for I was in a car with nobody to help me when it happened.

Another life threatening expirience I have had was being 20 feet away from a propain tank when a not-so-little firework tipped over and launced little fireballs strait at it. I imagine I would be dead if it blew up.

The only real big pain injury I have had is an Alpine Slide wipe-out. I would say it is far more painful than your even above average bike ride slip up or your get hit by vehicle one. Heres why: You are traveling far faster than any human could go on a bike, and when your sled pops out from under you, its you vs. hard concrete track. The bad part is I traveled 12 or so yards along this concrete track, scrapping about half the skin of both my elbows and knees. I didn't have to go to the hospital, but I couldn't move for 4 days and I lived with constant pain for 2 weeks. I still have a scar that is probably visible from 20 feet away.

A one day pain injury I've had: Sprinting kid vs. my private area. Lets put one thing out there, I would have rather broken both of my arms.

One last thing, tube of tires with wasp nest, I decided to crawl through it. Didn't hurt much though. This counts as my sting story, don't have a broken bone one though.

When I was small I went to a chuck e chess rip off (name forgotten). While there, I was pushed off some sort of wall climb thing for kids. Well my arm was broke from then for some time. I can still remember bits and pices, but not the entire event. All I remember was going to a hospital to get te cast removed sometime later and that's it.

You may have been alright (though by a closer margin!) if it had lodged vertically--being made of sugar, it might have dissolved enough to let air through before your lack of oxygen became too severe. I had a similar experience with an ice cube when I was younger, and that's what happened to me (melting rather than dissolving, of course, but same principle).

So i've remembered another couple to add to my list :p

when i was 7 or 8 i was riding my bike in the back yard, and had strung the washing line like the finish lines you see where you snap the tape when you cross. i rode into the line, which caught me around the neck, yanked me backwards off the bike, and left me with a rope burn around half my neck, not exactly fun i can tell you! :p

other one was when i was 11 or 12, we'd gone on a trip up north to a ski resort type place, and we's taken our scooters with us, it was autumn you see so no snow. my brothers and i were scooting around these forest paths, which were paved, as the americans say, and we came across a steepish slope which had a hump about halfway down. as i was going down this slope, my front wheel hit a stone and started twisting in my hands, so i tried to jump off at a run and stop myself. unfortunately i wash't able to run fast enough so i tripped about half way down, taking all the skin off my knee and elbow when i landed! could barely walk afterwards, and didn't bend my elbow for 2 weeks afterwards! :p
