the governments of the world are influenced by the wealthiest citizens of said world. In a time of economic concern, they don't want to mess with the "job makers". This is a very short sighted view. There are virtually no ups to this whole ACTA business. It's not just the US here, and it's not just before the US govt. This is basically an out to let the whole WWW be placed in a choke hold. Want some insight as to what things could be like? Look up China's protocols on the internet. Better yet, look how the isolated information from their people and prevented one of their citizens from accepting the Nobel Peace Prize last year. I fear this is the beginning of the next world war. Anonymous has declared a state of war, and, in the world we currently live in, a group such as they have the power to shut down commerce. The NYSE has been harmed and shut down before. Credit Card companies have been hacked multiple times in the past. In an age where the economy is almost entirely recorded on machines that are interlinked via the internet, Anonymous, and groups like them, has the ability to shut down commerce. There are far worse things than "copyright infringement" right now, and the world needs to focus on that and leave the internet alone. The netizen's will unite. They will triumph.
