What if my house covers 9 realms and is really tall but made of smoothstone, sandstone, and stone bricks?

Those are all fine, it's just mainly "Cobblestone," in general that looks suckish.

Ah okay then yeah I agree with this Cobblestone in some cases can look really nice however. The majority of people just can't pull it off like me

1. I will NOT build a house containing more then 20 blocks of cobble that is largely noticeable from the outside of the structure.

This rule is for the small amount of people who can make Cobble look good, and for those with exceptional texture packs.

Yeah, LB Photo Realism @ x256 Pixels has rather pleasing and / or stylish cobblestone, but compared to all other textures; it's just not worth the time and effort of building something out of the cheapest and least appealing block.

3. My building will NOT be exponentially tall.

I disagree to this because some of my building designs reach the skylimit for certain reasons, not intended to be ugly.

My texture pack makes cobble look like smoothstone bricks. If you are so upset, just get a texture pack. This will never be implemented.

If you can make a sky high building that looks good, then by all means necessary do it.

I believe the OP was referring to Cobble buildings at that height, hence the title. Otherwise it would be irrelevant.

@Guadal that is a bit inaccurate, most people do use the default texture pack; it's not like we should accept your ugly building just because it's not ugly to you.

Also, he's not asking for anything implemented, he's saying people who agree with the aforementioned post "Agreed," here. That's the reason there's no poll.

Ah ok, that makes more sense, but I do think that the people who hate could more easily fix it by using a texture pack than by asking everyone else to change.

Ahm...... I don't know about this idea. Like gaud said, you can get a really good texture pack. I'm going to be fine if this passes, but I don't if others will be.

If it's my realm, I'll build how I want, I own it.... if you share it with someone you can exact what ever mental ideas and rules you want.

Cobble is cheap and easy and looks really good under the right TP's as it's been said before.

Off to go build a 50x050 to sky limit house right now.....

I don't like the idea of rules dictating what styles of buildings we have, but private realm owners can (and should, in my personal opinion) set minimum standards for what their guests' buildings should look like. I fully support this as a recommendation for nice-looking buildings, but I don't think it needs to be an official rule.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have used an inappropriately large amount of cobble in some of my buildings... in the process of renovating them with nicer materials like brick, wood and moss stone, but I apologize to anyone whose eyes have exploded in the meantime.
