I do live quite far away from anyone, however on the off chance I'm venturing out I don't want to be ambushed by a bunch of players who just want to PVP all day and ruin it for everyone else. My 9 realm large area has a large mountain just outside one of the walls so I have to spend quite a bit of time out there getting rid of it, usually with a diamond pickaxe with an enchantment on it or two so I'd prefer not to have someone interrupt me while I'm trying to fix up my houses wall. I started here back in July and I loved not being able to be killed whenever, it was awesome because it gave me a chance to start up a realm which has now grown to 9 realms.

Exactly, where is the challenge of the game? Your home is protected, your items are protected even yourself is protected from PVP.

No I do not want a creative server. I want a server where I can gather resources and build large structures in peace without ever having to worry about other people interrupting me. Creative is not fun simply because I am handed all the items, I like having to go out and gather items, it keeps me from becoming bored of minecraft. PVP however just does not appeal to me and I think it has no place in the main world. In the Nether that's fine because 1.) I never go there and 2.) It's always had PVP.

If newcomers wanted to avoid the wilderness PvP, maybe the rule could be that the PvP would be off for newcomers until they have either been on the sever a certain amount of time or buy their first realm. So, the second they buy their first realm, the PvP kicks in.

So wait? you are saying that this shouldn't be implemented purely for the fact of your own beneficial needs?

People, you need to think how big the area of spawn is. Even if the amount of people on the server at the most popular time was timed by 100, there would still not be enough people to cover every single exit out of the city. If by chance you stumble into someone on the borders, then well that sucks, Bad luck. Respawn and change direction. Simple.
