I hate not being able to work and be productive when its something I enjoy. Main reason I've never been able to write a full song. I get too carried away with improvisation.

I remember seeing a job posting for video game testers before. Maybe you could look into something like that?

Haven't seen you around here before, at least I don't think. Not familiar with what an FdA is, I'm assuming its an equivalent of an Associates degree in the States, since you're only 19 too. Unless its a 4 year degree, then I'd just be really impressed.

I know quite a few girls that do the whole horse riding thing too.. There's actually a ranch thing near my house that a few people I know would ride at. Last time I rode a horse, it tried to throw me off, so I haven't tried since, lol.

I'm not an overly frequent player, just like to do my bit here and there. FdA would be the equivalent of an Associates, yes. I was half way through my Bachelors degree when I got a chance to work at the company I'm currently at, and just thought that it was an opportunity not to be missed for anything.

There's a lot of riding stables in my home town (I lived in the countryside) so 60% of girls in the area would have a horse :) I just compete casually though, don't have the time to ride as much as I used to unfortunately.

A+/MSCE/RHCE/SUN CERT/Network +/blah blah blah blah

Skilled in the ways of:

Windows/Mac/All flavors of *nix/Linux/BSD can still program basic on a Commodore 64 if I feel like it

But currently I am out of IT, and I do technical dicing for filters that go into everything from color scanners at home depot that pick the right paint for you, to beam splitters, to reticules that go into military equipment and so on.

Good times....

Klippy - Well, you've had better opportunities than me :P Last job I had was last Christmas at Toys R Us. Temp job, not fun at all. Haven't really had enough will to work the past year, but I'm gonna start looking soon. I'll have an Associate's after this semester I'm pretty sure, though I might need one or two more classes. Your job sounds awesome though, must take tons of creativity. I wanted to do something like that, til I realized I had none.

That many people had horses in your neighborhood? Dang.. I hear they're pretty expensive. You must have grown up in a nice area for that many people to own horses! Where I grew up, kids didn't even own bikes, they usually just stole them.. But I moved to a newer housing development about 7 years ago, and there are at least two people that own Ferraris here, so I guess that's the car equivalent to a horse..

Vailure - I only could understand a few things of what you said. But your work sounds pretty interesting. And hey.. my dad's first computer was a Commodore 64! Though he didn't do any programming on it.. I think he just bought it to say he had a computer.

I loved my c=64, learned to program on it, and played so many kickass games...made me the geek I am today :P

I'm currently a Linux Administrator, and build/manage mostly RHEL boxes (About 700 or so). I dabble in VOIP, F5 load balancers, and RSA securid.

I've had about 5 years of this so far, and I love it. I recommend it if you can wrap your brains around Linux.

Well first, I don't think I've introduced myself (at least not formally), so my name is Bryce. I'm a 19 (going on 20 soon) year old college student in the second semester of my second year at a community college in Illinois. So far, I've knocked almost all of my general studies out of the way, and after I've milked as many credits I can from the cheap 2 year college I'm attending now, I plan to transfer to the newly built Western Illinois University campus that is opening locally this spring. There, I plan on continuing my goal of majoring in electrical engineering (I've been taking specific math classes that are required so far), and I'm undecided on a minor. Possibly music or something pertaining to sound engineering. It would be a dream come true to work for a big-name guitar amplifier manufacturer such as Marshall or Mesa, designing and refining future amplifiers' circuitry. I love tube technology (I've built a 65ish era Marshall clone, point-to-point wired and all), and I'd enjoy a career in which I could help keep that technology around. Plus, have an excuse to play guitar on the job to test out my work ;)
Are you the future me of 2 years?
I recently turned 18 and am in the senior year of high school. I plan on majoring in electrical engineering and would love to end up working for a guitar/amplifier company. So far all I've really done is built 2 simple, little bass amps while I was in my Electronics class at my school. I also plan on building an electric guitar fairly soon for my required senior project.
