The Wolves' Den Surpasses Terranobyl
March 27th was a day of defeat for the people of Terranobyl as the populous nation, the Wolves' Den passed them up in block count. The current race leaves Terranobyl in second place, both realms being at 340x340 meters. No news has been released by the Terranobilians as to a response to the event, but we can only expect that it has only caused their ambitions to raise even higher.
On a sunny day, Terranobilians would be constantly at work to increasing their block count. However, with the recent affliction of E. Coli by realm leader Panthers17nfl, the relative activity within Terranobyl saw a sharp decrease. Their momentum is regaining, however. The induction of the Celestian Refugees into the realm is helping to further their advancement.
It is unconfirmed whether the Wolves' Den seek to continue their massive expansion, or slow down in a victorious gesture of relaxation. Whatever happens, the race to be the largest realm will never falter.
The Economy
IP Exchange Sees More Growth
This period saw yet another time of slight progress, accumulating more money in circulation as well as moving more units. Some of the figures shouldn't be overlooked, however, especially since this period was exceptionally longer than the last, pushing through at an extensive 4 days 9 hours. Of course, the units moved this period saw drastic improvement, but a figure representing the average units moved per 23.5 hours (the length of the last period) has been posted in parentheses next to the real figure. This should help demonstrate the true growth of the system.
Although only a few materials saw any change in IP value, the changes that were made may be seen as drastic. What is the most important figure to examine this fiscal period is the Real Value of these items: the value they sell for in diamonds, iron, coal, and gold, the four standards of IP Exchange currency. In efforts to keep IP values high and protect the well-being of agricultural nations, Wheat, Seeds, and Logs weren't hit hard IP wise as was intended, but instead saw an increase in Real Value. These figures can be viewed in the Influence Points Exchange Center thread.
The Flint industry still sees little activity despite its incredible value over Gravel. We do expect to see the introduction of many Gravel-diggers this next fiscal period as the IP Exchange becomes more publicized.
The Reeds, Logs, and Cobble industries remain strong as they always have. Wool, Feathers, Gunpowder, and Leather remain relatively untouched by the marketeers despite the high demand for those materials. These oddities can be expected to be corrected once the IP Exchange itself becomes further publicized.
The Economic Threshold saw a very impressive increase in spite of the server downtimes, but it still has yet to breach the 175 milestone. An inflow of Gold would very quickly remedy this.
We must also keep in mind that due to the frequent and extensive server downtimes during this period, the seemingly low number of units moved as opposed to what was expected can be excused, as most of its lifespan was during a time of server crisis.
Total Units Moved: 21 310
Units Moved This Period: 8 190 (2 047 per day) (+4 926)
Units Moved Last Period: 3 264
Economic Threshold (Raw Value): 171 (+16)
Exchange Rating: 206 (+1)

IP Exchange Center Building Near Completion
The IP Exchange Center's official building, which has been in construction since March 25th, is finally nearing completion. Once finished, it will house an ingenuitive vault system that will protect the IP transaction safely and assure that you receive the correct amount of points. While this system means that you can purchase IP 24/7 and no longer require Panthers17nfl to be online to perform the exchange, it does have some notable drawbacks.
With the current system, you are required to post on the forums (or in a private message, the specifics are undecided) the amount of materials you have placed in the vault in exchange for IP. It can be expected to be delivered to you within two hours. This is a rough estimate and is by no means confirmed, however.
Additionally, the current system protects your vault as soon as you close the door, and so it is strongly advised that you close the door after you have deposited the items. It is then required that you type /spawn or /home, whichever gets you to safety.
In Development
Creative Server Nearing Completion
Intelli has very recently announced that the long awaited Creative Server (which will likely be referred to as: "MineRealm Classic") is, "Pretty much done." One of the final hurdles for its creation was apparently disabling the health bars, and that task has just been accomplished.
The I.P. address for this server still remains a mystery, but it is well expected that once it initially leaks, we can expect an explosion of players switching over to it.
So what does this mean for MineRealm Survival?
Most noticeably will be the slight to moderate reduction in player count. One supporter of MineRealm Classic, Cogohst, stated awhile back that, "I'll probably be playing on both of them and just switch off between them." While some players view the reduction in player count as a negative effect, many see the other side of it. Survival has often had issues sustaining the incredibly high player counts, sometimes reaching into the low 80's. The introduction of the Creative server will not only spread the players out, which will reduce lag, but will also provide an outlet and quite possibly the first cure to Downtimeitus, as the other MineRealm server will likely be online even while the other is not.
Even with the separation of players between the servers, communication remains simple. The chats are linked between the two servers, so you are never 100% isolated from your friends on Creative or Survival.
Legendary Projects
The Terranobyl Space Program Takes One Small Step
Legendary Projects are what can be defined as either constant or enormous programs conducted by anyone that seek to stride to greatness. The Terranobyl Space Program is the first of these projects.
Space Commander Panthers17nfl has very little to disclose regarding the details of their program, but more news can be expectantly leaked as their program inevitably gains public notice.
Celestian Refugee KyleFate and Lieutenant Commander of the Army Lm108 are expected to be the two leading pilots in this program. They will seek to set foot where no man has gone before... on MineRealm. Pigs may also serve as substitute pilots, but their abilities to effectively control the spacecraft are in extreme doubt by the Terranobilians.
Although the breaching of the Stratosphere is not an accomplishable task on Minecraft, the people of Terranobyl seek to further the research and development into the usage of spacecraft to achieve things other than the reaching of the moon. However, with the aid of an unexpected server glitch, the Terranobilians may be able to expect setting foot on the moon in their near future.
Politics
Novabiscuit Achieves Most Militarized Realm Status
The Realm Wars forums are absolutely peppered with the vicious and militaristic statements of the Novabiscuitians. Their culture prides itself in bloodshed and aggression. Many fear them, others are aggravated by them, and others still wish to battle them relentlessly.
Their militaristic standing in the world seems to represent that of the British Army during the times of the American Revolution in the late 18th century. They enter battle with full confidence in their ability to succeed, but at the same time, grossly underestimate the military potential of their adversaries. While they remain a composed and powerful nation, they must be vigilant for other realm Superpowers that wish to thwart their dominance.
Sports
LBG Tournament Cancelled
Due to Terranobyl being hard at work at the construction of the IP Exchange Center, the proposed tournament for this Sunday had to be canceled. They may be hosting a tournament this coming weekend, but this is unconfirmed.
There is still no word on Cube Island hosting another tournament or event, as they are still frustrated with the layout of a public tournament. A private tournament, on the other hand, still has yet to take place.
Hopefully, the people of MineRealm can start seeing LBG get fired up again. With the finishing touches being made to the IP Exchange, Terranobyl can definitely be an expected host in the near future.
Spleef a Dying Past-Time?
It hasn't been since the 4th Generation during the days of Aquaria was there a Spleef tournament. There are currently no standing, officially recognized Spleef arenas, but there is word that Terranobyl is attempting to adapt its stadium to make it compatible with Spleef. Details as to how they expect to do this are yet to be released.
Creations
The Wolves' Den Pumps out Another Masterpiece
This Issue, the Wolves' Den knew they had a creation that was waiting for the mention it deserves. Slaving for hours on end to create this intricate structure, Rokkrwolf312 and Bramblegoose took a step back in time, constructing what is known to us as the Arch of Titus, a grand piece of history that dates back to over 3,000 years old. Rokkrwolf commented that, "It's kind of hard to build something when it's that old." It can be assumed that the pictures for this structure aren't very accurate, and so the fact that they managed to construct it accurately is a feat all its own.
What the journalists at MineRealm News didn't unveil is that the Arch of Titus replica was actually built as an entranceway to their equally incredible replica of Solomon's Temple, a key piece of religious history.
The Arch of Titus.
As it has been created.
Greatness Grouped in Tens
Moderator Jtcanon has recently released the first of what we can expect to be many Top 10 Creations of MineRealm. This week, he showcased some of the most fantastic and timeless creations MineRealm has to offer. From the clever engineering of the Republic of Lumina's automated wheat farm to the artistic consistency of Aurea Civitas, this series shows that greatness is right before our very eyes and all around us.
Editor's Notes: I often say that "pictures will be released later" because I simply don't know where Minecraft screenshots end up on Windows 7, but this time I'm serious. The pictures I took were very poor and didn't properly bring to light the Wolves' Den's archway.
I also didn't find time to get around to adding the Crafter's Corner or the Wirer's Corner, but I will be adding them in tomorrow most likely. I am very pleased that there are many players out there who know much more about Redstone than I and are very willing and able to help me with the Wirer's Corner. Incidentally, I am still looking for players to contribute to the Crafter's Corner. More information regarding it is viewable in Player's Issue #2.
