I'm Canadian too, and this situation is as dire to me as it is to anybody else. If the US accepts this, the other countries will soon follow.

I agree with your sentiments, but I seriously doubt that a thread on the MineRealm forum is going to change the course of US politics. Although, that might be helpful... not sure I'd trust some people here to control the government...

I 'liked' an 'against SOPA' page, and posted that very same status on it, asking people to spread the word.

@prodigy: That's just the thing. People are going to think 'oh, I'm just one person, It won't matter what I do.' The thing is, when one person starts thinking that, there's bound to be more. And if we don't ask people to spread the word, there could be MILLIONS who think that 'oh, i'm just one person, It won't matter what I think.' If that happens, we may as well support SOPA.

The bill basically attacks the freedom of the press. A good way to attack this bill is by writing letter to major american media outlets, such as television networks. If you can get them riled up, they can throw more money and politicians at it than the music industry.

I live in Canada. I have no clue what any major american media outlets are. And I bet they are already on it anyway.

Even though a Minerealm forum thread can't do much, you can still have a group of people work together work together to spread awareness and such.

haha. i ain't been voting ever since I turned 18. most of teh people that are up to be voted for are either stupid, lieing, don' care for the american country and/or its people, or all 3
