The problem with this is the nether road. We don't want to have to build it every month.

Something done like the saving realms when we changed maps could be done the same way for the road.

Im also in for resetting the nether once a month or every 2 months.

About glowstone being rare Id say it is very rare since I havent seen anyone selling it for awhile now and it also sucked that if you didnt get in on the rush to mine it out you didnt get anything otherwise. RL things do come up you know! Of course again why should a select few control the market on such things too?

If someone in nether/public realm build glowstone building and get griefed then the glowstone gets rollbacked. More and more people would grief the building and put the colllected glowstone in trade public chest before getting banned and crash the economy.

On that point, glowstone shouldn't even be ALLOWED or rollbacked in public areas. It would crash economy. Intelli can do stuff with the nether as he pleases.

Besides, the economy isn't based of glowstone anymore really. The economy is more based on diamonds, seeing as no one is selling glowstone to begin with.

No. I vote no nether wipe. All the reasons for no wipe have already been said.

This is the economy of minerealm. It's very similar to that of the real world. The factions with piles of glowstone aren't stupid. They'll keep some for themselves and they'll sell the rest at an equilibrium price. Enough said.

If the nether is wiped, the same group will just get the majority of it again, horde a large portion of it, and build a few tacky buildings that use far too much of it... hell, maybe they'd just build the whole thing out it. I'd like to see it be more evenly distributed myself, but resetting the nether will just put more in the hands of those few people.

Wouldn't it be possible to just re-set a select area in the nether as was done in the over world? That way people wouldn lose the roads or other structures in the nether and people would still have a new area to look for GS.

Otherwise we could have like a monthly event where some GS could be spawned and hidden around the current nether, seeing as GS powder is now an ingredient for potions, overtime it's possible that we may run out of GS thus making those potions impossible to make and loseing a really awesome building block.

Or another alternative could be that a mod or admin could spawn some, but others could only obtain it by buyin it from them for a more reasonable price.

I think any of the above would be more reasonable then having to wipe the nether on a monthly basis and would in turn meet the needs of many. We have to acknowledge that with over 100+ players on this server and GS being a much harder material to come by that we need someway to replenish them or we will run this resource dry (kinda like the real world and oil )

Intelli has stated that the nether will NEVER wipe. This thread is now useless.
