Could there be a way to make a plug in so a sign is public? Like say im online at odd hours and my realm neighbors and i dont see each often, If i could have a sign in front of my house entrance, or out in the open they could see that we could both edit without actually destroying the sign? I guess what i mean is i have a sign in my realm that no one but me is allowed to break or place, but people could come up to it and change the message by right clicking it or something.

For example you make a sign and just type <public> then a blank sign places and you right click it to edit, then if you want to remove it, just hold left mouse button to destroy it?

Can't you just post signs on a nearby public realm? Or post your messages to each other on the forums? Or even better, you could PM each other on the forums.

It's a nice idea, although would take some coding effort to do, unless there are any pluggins already available for implimentation.
Certainly there could be some abuses, similar issues to wikipedia. But it would be a useful alternative means of communication especially with players who may not have registered on the forums.
I like this idea and therefore will support it.
Can anyone point out any flaws that I haven't already covered?

True you could post the sign in a public realm, but then theres the chance the person your trying to reach will never even see it, plus i kinda like the idea of having a sign above my door a random could walk by and say 'hey love your house!' like those wall magnet message things that used to be on myspace i think it was.

i usually put up a sign on the edge of my realm bordering my neighbor and he has one on his facing mine. we use that to communicate regularly.
