A red apple is required when the player wishes to craft a golden apple by hand. Unfortunately red apples can only be found in Strongholds, as a 1/200 chance of dropping from Oak Trees, or by killing Notch in SMP, which makes them difficult to come by.

Eating one heals Hunger.svgHunger.svgHunger.svgHunger.svgHunger.svg, and grants enhanced regeneration for 30 seconds, regardless of hunger level. They are considered to be very valuable to players and are often kept as a kind of trophy. When in your inventory, Golden Apples shine purple.

As of the 1.0.0 release health generation is no longer unique to golden apples as the player can brew health generation potions. Not only do potions last longer (0:45) than a golden apple (0:30), they can also be upgraded with redstone and glowdust to either heal the player more rapidly or to have an even longer duration (2:00). Since golden apples are a food they cannot be upgraded, unlike potions.

As of weekly build 11w48a, Oak Leaves have a 1/200 chance of dropping a Red Apple, making them and the craftable Golden Apples now renewable resources.

Correction, you'd be making more money then you have now. As it seems right now, you are making 0 credits off of it, with intention to sell. That being said, 1.5k credits on it would be making you... 1.5k more credits then 0.

If you say that because you bought the apple for more then 1.5k, look at it logistically, if you don't take that offer, you're out at -2k, but if you take the offer you're out less on the apple (-.5k)

Pretty sure this is either wrong, or doesn't work on SMP, i used a full diamond sword on leaves, which is like 750 leaves, and never got a single apple.

Either that or i had super bad luck.
