King of Turves? Well I guess I was trying to be a bit ironic. Being a king is position of authority and to wield lots of power. Being the king of England (or queen) yes very powerful indeed. Being the king of Turves... Not so much. Since Turves is small barely a village and more a hamlet really in the middle of the Fenland district in northern Cambridgeshire.
I love history and geography so I guess the username is has aspects of it in it.
Turves is my 3rd home growing up. I was born in Milton Keynes and moved to the Fenland village of Wimblington where my family stayed until around secondary school where we moved to Turves.
Turves is so small that it's not on most maps except for 4 railway crossings that are nearby.

It contains about a 100 houses, has a small estate and two roads, a pub (The Three Horseshoes) and a Phonebox (which is usually broken). There used to be a garage repair shop but that was closed down and before I moved there thre was a small victorian primary school which is now just a house.

I live along Burnthose road (great name) but I'm not sure how it got its name.
As far as I can tell Turves means 'place where the turf is cut', so it probably originates from when they cut ditches and dykes into the fenland peat to help drain it for farmland
The settlement probably started out as houses for agricultural workers near a railway depot, but today is more of a commuter settlement.
Turves is near to the Greenwich meridian line, is in the Western (Occidental) hemisphere, is within the Whittlesey parish of the Fenland District. The capital of the Fenland district council is in March and Turves is to the West of it.
When I was at school with my friends Peter and Ross we made up a game called the Great Fenwar, inwhich Peter was the Custodian of Christchurch and I was the King of Turves and Ross was the leader of a underground ground rebel movement called the Lapin Noir. March was leader by a dictator called Bad Bob who tried to take over Fenland, in WW2 type of geopolitical setup.
To cut a long story short I used the name again for my Deviantart website page for when I started drawing stuff (mainly Sonic fan art), and so when I came to register my username on Minecraft I decided to use Kingofturves as I felt it would be easy to remember. ^^
