Please bear with me, this is probably gonna be all jumbled up, as i'm not the best at writing essay type things :)

Guys, i know this is a scary thought, and i know theres many reasons for and against a map-wipe, but lets face it, it would be good for us.
We would get all new terrain, and yes, we would loose our accrued wealth, and our big fancy structures, but if the structures are really that important, you can just build them again, and add those improvements you want to add at the same time! there would be another glowstone rush, how exciting! :p we could go out and create new cities, maybe not another roanoke, or abyssus but something new! i for one would be interested in trying to build a city in some mountains, and see what i could do there!
Look, yes there would be some unhappy weeks remembering lost treasures, but there would be 10 times more happy times building new ones! we could build a mass transit system from scratch, and not have to stop every 50 blocks to get permissions from another realm owner, there wouldn't be a redstone torch charge to deal with, meaning the subway might actually get finished, because at this rate, if we do get a charge, we won't be able to afford to lay all the torches required, which would be a massive loss to the community.
I never knew the maps of 1.0, 1.2, 2.0 and 3.0, but i have seen some screenshots, and yes, they were fabulous, but they had their time, and we moved on. we say we have Minerealm 4.0 now, but in a actual fact we have Minerealm 3.5, a new public map spliced with the old Private map, its horrible to look at, and i for one would like to see it change. For once, and this is a once in a lifetime happening, I agree with Kress! 3.0 has had its time, we should have had a full map wipe in the first place!
Intelli, perhaps we shouldn't have had the choice of keeping our realms, that may have been a mistake, but its in the past, and now we have to deal with it.
Yes, some of you have threatened to leave if we have a full map wipe, but will you really? i think you will probably do what Kress did, walk away for a month, get curious and come back after having a foul time elsewhere. and then you'll be upset because you're a month behind everyone else, and will have a hard time getting that realm you really want, or have to buy resources at higher prices to build that house you want to build.
Some of you skeptics out there will probably accuse me of wanting a spawn realm, and yea, that would be nice, i'm buying two shortly, but if i really want a proper spawn realm i'll go make a city of my own, and apply for a spawn point, which i'm going to do map wipe or not by the way.
Please please please vote yes to the full map wipe!
Thanks for reading,

Since I joined the server, it has been constant waiting for me to build my big projects. Months spent acquiring the credits, and materials required for my pet project. First it was waiting for the 1.8 wipe. Then when that gost postponed, it was waiting for the 1.9 wipe. Then when 1.9 got cancelled, it was waiting for 1.0. Now we've finally wiped the map, and I've started working on my project (which is not even 5% done), people want a complete wipe.

Put all my work to the axe because you want a "fair share"? A chance for spawn realms, a chance for glowstone? Call me selfish, I won't deny it. Say that I'm just BAWWWWWing? You're damn right I am.

Scarily similar to an Ayn Rand novel.

Recap: >90% of the map is 1.0 terrain. So no, we don't need a wipe to "keep up" with minecraft developement.
There was a glowstone rush 2 weeks ago. How often do we need them?
Patchwork map? Who cares? It's only around the border between old public and old private land.

The only reason factions are pushing for this is because they want to control the next spawn city. They can deny it until they're blue in the face, but people aren't stupid.

Fritter. I 100% agree with you. If people want 'a new beggining' ditch everything, give away your credits, and go find some pristine wilderness ready for a new civilization. If your too lazy to find that land, and instead want to ruin the game for people who can, you probably shouldn't be here.

First off forgive me if this does not come out the best ( I am at work and will have to write this at several different times ).

Can we turn down the drama please? People are getting too worked up over this and flying off the handle about some thing that matter in the long run. The more worked up you get the more your point gets lost or discredited. If everyone would calm down and come at this more rationally then I think we could find a solution that every one could agree to.

There are two points i would like to touch on.

First is the full map wipe.
While I am apposed to a full map wipe due to personal reasons I could understand it if Intelli desided that was what he needed to do to help the server. I dont want a wipe because I had very few realms while waiting for the mape wipe. While I dont have large structures or such, I still dont want to rebuild them. If we had a full wipe I would start from nothing (just like i did about 3 months ago) and I would not get any enjoyment from that. If others would like to start from scratch then you are more than welcome to do that on your own. If you want it just so the map looks better then just get out there and make it look better.

Second is about the lag hunt.
I am not seeing why everyone should suffer from just a few peoples actions. I have not made anything that causes lag, but yet I am going to loose my animals (about 6 cows) and all my redstone wiring. I think it would be better to find those giant lag machines and destroy them. Then go after all the large animal farms. If animal farms are going to be a problem for the server then just turn off mating.

I would rather us find smart solutions to the problems than just doing brute force ones that also hurt innocent players. The direction the server is going is making me think pretty hard about leaving. While I do not want to leave because I do like some of the community, the enjoyment is not there while I am having to deal with all the server problems. I do hope things will come out for the best for everyone one involved. I do like Intelli and the fact that he is putting so much hard work into this server (that is the reason I donated).

If I had more time I might try to give some possible solutions to the problems rather than just stating what I dont like, but it is starting to snow pretty good and I will have to work some accidents soon :(.

You people need to understand, that most people want this wipe not because they started out less, because they didn't get a chance at wealth or didn't get a spawn realm. Most people want this wipe because they're sick of all the flaunting of wealth, they're sick of people complaing about losing material possessions, they're sick of people moaning and whining about every which thing and the mention of any change to their "hard life's work". Well people, it's a god damn game, and game changes and the people who play that game need to change to accomadate these change. We don't need this map wipe to give everyone equal footing, we need this map wipe because we need to change to accomadate the changes to minecraft, We can't play on this broken ass map, with some realms stuck in the middle of mountains, some jutting out of vast oceans, and others just being towering plateus in the middle of swamps.

But if you people don't want to change when it's necessary, you people want to be to lazy to accomatedthe majority, and what's right to have a grand ol' time for all, then that's your choice. But it's a BAD choice, a choice that will in general ruin the server in the long term. You don't want to accomadate change when it's necessary just so you can keep a few shiny possessions and good looking structures? That's your choice, and will ultimately be a choice coming from the mentality of the mob, not the individual.

The main problem with minerealm at this current time is that, well, there are too many problems. You see, their's increasing hostility between the player base as a whole, this itself is a large problems to the server's playerbase as a whole to have a fun and wholesome experience. There's also the problem of lag, a problem that recedes and supercedes at a very sporatic timeframe. Now this is just an opinion, but I feel this could easily be caused by all the plugins we have, and could probally be cut-back if we were ever so willing to give up a few of these plugins, and while it may take out the fun in extremely specific areas, like not having to worry about some guy flying through the nether, some guy coming on and swearing at every 12 minute interval, it will increase the fun we have overall. Another major problem that people cry about is the worry over land, when it's over apparent that land has an excess of plentiful amounts. But if you would insist and want to cause intelli more problems then you could always push for an extension to the map size.

Essentially, it occurs to me that the playerbase wants so much of everything and so much of nothing, a while ago people were screaming "we don't want a map wipe", and now it seems you've rallied around a map wipe because you believe it will fix the lag issue, lord knows how it would. You wanted more protection a better realm system and then you turn around and complain that it's too chocaltely or that it makes it too hard to have a fun time building.

Everything this server has come to be has been made by the choices of the player, and yet you blame it on the few and on the person who so gracefully hosts this server for us. It's you people, the players, and all the magnet using alien overlords that need to decide what you truly want and not complain at everything at any given instant that you possibly can and expect intelli to bend over to your wills and summon resources and money that he does not possess to fix it.

Fritter, you, like most of the people who are voting no, are missing the whole reason for "yes". At first, you may think it is a matter of people wanting a "fair share", but that isn't true. The reasoning is much deeper than that. Take the time to read KyleFate's post. This isn't your personal creative server, its a survival server, which has been on too long. It's time for a wipe for the new version of minecraft. Think of the future, 2 weeks after the wipe. It is for the best. Stop thinking only about yourself, think about what is best for the server.

I'm up for it, why not have huge teamwork rebuilding Spawn City? Why not get a new map that isn't a patched quilt? Why wasn't there a full wipe with the release of Minecraft? Will we ever have a full wipe if not now? Oh, we're going to have it soon, nvm. Why not now instead of in a few months, maybe. Please consider it.
The map is never wiping.
I'm sure Intelli was being sarcastic when he said this. He clearly said he will consider it after this poll has run its course. (second post here). Also he never said this thread is over, so people who want "no", stop rushing to conclusions and trying to end this discussion.
Intelli wrote:I'll consider it if the majority vote is for "Yes".
So, Intelli was just being sarcastic to mitch1243 because he was whining and "asking" for a wipe, instead of intelligently debating it here like we are supposed to.

If the discussion isn't over when 79 people vote with a solid majority opposed to a wipe, and Intelli comments saying that there won't be a wipe, then when exactly will the discussion end? When the pro-wipe position gets a majority?

Well, the poll runs "Poll runs till Sun Dec 11, 2011 10:08 pm".
It isn't a "solid majority" at all. Only need to convince about 11 people to change their vote, and it would be a tie. The point of this conversation is to try and explain to people, and maybe make them change their mind. There are people who maybe weren't on in the past few days, who deserve to have their opinions heard too. And this discussion needs to progress more.

I'm also sure most people who voted "no", voted only as a "reflex vote" because of selfish reasons, not wanting to lose their things. Without weighing the benefits over their personal "losses". People should read through all the posts in this thread before coming to a conclusion. They should try to make an unbiased decision about what would be best for the server, not just for themselves, not just to keep their belongings, progress, and wealth. And they should stop thinking this is some sort of communist coup, with "poor people" trying to get "their fair share". Look at the big picture folks!

Think of it like this- for those big-shots who currently own realms that have turned out ugly since the 1.0 wipe. I'm sure you were all pleased to hear that your hard work would be spared with the update, and realms would be protected when the wipe came about. AND NOW, you're all like "oh hey, this isn't as great as I thought it would be- my realm looks so ugly! Might as well wipe it! lululul" Well some of us never owned a realm in the 1.8 version, and had to go through having our work destroyed with the 1.0 update (which was fine! No biggy!). But now, after saving our credits and gathering our supplies, and building on this new land (which I don't think is so bad at all, I've explored so much of it and 95% of it is just perfect!), we hear that there's a possibility we have to start again for a second time, and so soon? That's a little ridiculous. We'll be losing our work TWICE, all because those who owned realms the first time round don't like the way their realms look after demanding that they would be protected in the first place? You'll be doing to the rest of us exactly what you didn't want to happen to you in the 1.0 wipe.

Things should have been organised better. They should have seen how ugly the realms were looking just after the wipe and done something about it then- not after players had taken the time to start afresh on new land.

It's not that I mind having my work wiped- I'm sure we've all experienced it before. It's that we're having it wiped TWICE, and not for the greater good, but because some people don't like their ugly little realms. A map wipe will be of no benefit to some of us whatsoever, because we've taken the initiative to build on current clean land rather than mope about how ugly the realms look.

If the wipe needs to be done, then so be it. I just really wish this had been organised a little better.
