Minecraft: Saw it on Facebook on a Friend's pictures.
Minerealm: Was introduced by a different friend once I got Minecraft.

Minecraft: I saw my nephew playing it, and eventually decided to give it a try.

MineRealm: I got bored with songle player and started researching top-ranked servers. The (old) realms system caught my attention.

Minecraft: About a year ago, my friend told me he had found this awesome game (Minecraft), and yes it did look awesome, but ..underdeveloped. I thought "eehhh I don't want to spend $20 on a game that might die in two months. *facepalm* Then a year later I'm the only one without Minecraft missing all the fun, so I made the right decision in the end I bought it during Notch's wedding so I got a second copy for free^^

Minerealm: I really wanted to build projects with people and not just by myself, so I started looking into an SMP server. From the list that is on mcserver, this is the first one that I have tried and liked for two reasons.
1) Realms can protect player built structures.
2) I only like to build in vanilla

Minecraft: A friend showed me it.
Minerealm: A friend showed me it, I forgot about it, then jailbird got Minecraft and he remembered it and he went on it and I watched him play and on the 23rd of February I got Minecraft and then I went on Minerealm and I had fun and I have been having fun since then.

Minecraft: I was searching around for a multiplayer game.

Minerealm: I was searching for a server, and after I had tried about 25, I saw Minerealm. I was like "Last one, and I give up, you have to go on singleplayer then." I joined, saw thee sign that said I was awesome, read the rules, and was like "Meh." I got bored and came back ten seconds later.
I played it as my 2nd favorite server ever since.

Same thing for minerealm. I have no idea about minecraft. I guess I heard people talking about it and I felt the urge to buy it. I didn't even watch any videos on it. It was just an irrational impulse. Hey, I'm gonna spend 17 bucks on this. hehe. and here I am, addicted and trapped.

Minecraft: I heard about it while it was in Indev, and bought it immediately.
Minerealm: Looked at a server list and Minerealm was at the top and the realm system sounded awesome.

Minecraft: I saw a couple of massive build demos on youtube, like the full scale Starship Enterprise. Then watched a review and live build on Video Games Awesome (via the Nostalgia Critic) when 1.4 was released and the wolves were introduced. It looked like fun and I was hooked ever since.

Minerealm: Was looking for a public server while me and Roostor's (?Roostor and I's?) private server was down. Minerealm was the first one I tried, wasn't sure about it. Tried two more and hated them. Came back for good the next day because the rules were great, the admins were actual players and very helpful, and I liked the feel of the rest of the playing population. (Granted, this is before the latest duping scandals and mass bannings) Still love the server and can't wait to see where further use of 1.0 takes us!

Minecraft: I saw a You-tuber named "mmattryann" talking about it on Twitter. So i looked it up, played the creative free version for a long time; I never had enough spare money or time to buy the real version. - Fast forward a week - It was my a few weeks after my birthday... I had gotten the new iPod for my birthday, So in turn a had an old one with a broken screen. I offered my dad my old broken iPod if he would buy me a minecraft account, So he did. Side-Note: My birthday is the exact same as Minerealm's :o

Minerealm: I went onto Minecraft Forums "Survival Server" section and i looked through the servers until i found the most organized looking title, clicked it (Minerealm), and played ever since.
