They are considerably rare judging by Minecraft Wiki. If you got a ghast tear naturally, more power to you. Obviously a 500 credit start is stating that the item is not THAT valuable, if I thought it was worth 5,000 then you could call it a "trick."

Hate to rain on your parade, but only pissed-pants bums and mentally disabled people would consider this an illegitimate start to selling this item.

Since Ghast Tears are so hard to get, I've decided to replace the "Instant Health" with "Regeneration" for them
