The only problem with a full wipe that I have at this point is that some people have made deep investments based on being able to keep their private realms. If the map wipe was planned to be full, I doubt Tehbomb(and other Exodus members) would have dumped so much time and effort into buying and leveling all those realms, same with New Frogtown, its a lot of boring terraforming we could have spent doing something more entertaining. Other than that, well, I've deleted a 700 hour SSP world to save 3 minutes so you can guess my position on a full wipe of Minerealm.

Also I am confused as to why some un-owned realms where not wiped, perhaps something related to the "realms keeping their MOTD after going public" glitch.

Random idea, a "regenerate chunk" manual command feature might be nice for staff to use, like if they just happen to be a-strollin and see a botched up chunk just chillin they can just run that command as they go through it, and it will speed up the healing process.

Full wipes really aren't that big of deal.

Want a full wipe? Play single player. I think the reason why people don't want a full map wipe is because of all the time that has been spent preparing for a partial map wipe. People have spent countless hours building things that are important to them. Most people don't have the time to rebuild and start fresh every 3 months.

But this isn't a wipe waiting for another update, it's the "final" wipe. Yes, I wanted to hold onto the things I built, but looking at the land around me, I'd rather wipe it out and start anew...

No one knew what the land was going to look like, so yeah we wanted to keep what we had. Now that we know, people are allowed to change their minds on the issue.

I don't think you understand. I've played on MineRealm since Minecraft was in alpha. Whenever the map wiped, people complained, as always. A week later, they got over it. If a map wipe did occur on MineRealm, it would allow ALL players to start fresh, and be equal to each other. As it is now, factions like NTC, Ceteri, Abyssus, Roanoke, and a few others maintain control over the general map. The economy has already been messed up by dupers, xray-hackers, and glow stone. Now IS the best time for a map wipe.
Let's clean off the slate, start anew, and build a better legacy on MineRealm.

Don't you think that the same groups would just regain there control and possibly gain even more control if this happened? Very active players will end up on top like they always have and the less active players will end up where they where before.

I still am on the middle line though. Part of me would like a fresh map and part of me doesn't want to start all over. In the end its up to Intelli though.

Right, because not wiping the map keeps the most active players from being on top. The most active players are going to be on top because they're in game more often. However, with a full wipe, we can give everyone an equal footing for a little while.

Until people start complaining about how things are unfair in another 3-4 months from now. In the end the map will just become like it is now and people will want that map wiped as well.

I think that there are a lot of pros and cons to both a wipe, and keeping what we have now, but the choice is still Intelli's.
