Lag is not usually an issue for me. Usually. But lag is a given on almost any computer.

True, but on my cheap Toshiba Satellite with modest specs, (less than $400, can't ask for much out of that..) Minecraft runs generally lag-free, while it isn't even playable on my Mac.

my easy steps:
1. press start button on iMac
2. take a minute to fill your juice bottle
3. realise your iMac has already started and is staring at you impatiently
4. log-in to your profile
5. wait 5 secs for it to load
6. open minecraft
7. login to minecraft
8. login to minerealm
9. play lag free all day and night! XD

That's because of your 12 GB memory, not because it's a Mac...

Yeah, I lol'ed when I read the 12GB of RAM part. Thats pretty much overkill.. but would guarantee good performance no matter what the computer make/model. As long as it was fairly recent.
