Sorry, Mitch, but this can't happen. It wouldn't be strict enough. The stupid 12-year-olds that decide to perform ban-able offenses have to be stopped. A system like this would only encourage them. To them, getting banned is a game.

I'm not sure how you guys can say it doesn't or won't work. Almost every other thing you can be banned from online only bans you for a certain time, and if they don't your appeals usually get heard within a day or two. Neither of these things happen here.

No, they are permanent, and some hardly let you appeal. Emails, Games (World of Warcraft, LOL?, many other forums, etc). The admins don't have to be kind to the idiots who run around and get themselves banned. If they do the disservice of doing something banworthy, their appeal will hardly be high up on the staff's priority list/.

I support what we have now.
The bans the admins give out are not permanent if you respect minerealm enough to appeal, and appeals are regarded as second or third chances that should be given. If you grief the server and say, "I don't care about this ****ing server", or something along those lines, then the appeal is denied. This seems like an overall perfect system.

I like the current system better.

However, this could at least be a more reasonable proposal if there weren't as many chances given. Perhaps something like a week-long ban for the first offense, and a permanent ban (with very few appeals granted) for the second offense.

If you all are saying the system won't work because I'm giving too many chances, then for one say that, and two it was a mock system anyway. I'm just saying that appeals take forever, some people get banned unfairly so week bans or month bans seem like a logical solution to me. Especially for small time offenses.

I don't like this idea, someone will swear badly, get temp. banned, and then come on again and swear again, so more little kids (9 and down) see it.

Kids see worse words at school. The rule against swearing is pointless. Also I don't think there are many young kids (10 years or younger) on the server and personally I don't want kids that young on the server. Do you?

Back to the main issue, admins could decide whether to make it a temp ban or perm ban, or helpbot could. Just because we have a temp ban doesn't mean everyone needs to be temp banned. Just people who need to learn a lesson.

Actually, I don't care how old the people on the server are, as long as they aren't being super annoying. I think that the admins say it is a perma-ban, unless you have a good appeal. It doesn't matter if they hear worse at school, I just don't want them to be more corrupted than they already are.
