So I've asked ingame, and gotten a really silly, rationalized run-around about why we can't lock chests with the server command/plugin or whatever that I've seen on so many other servers. And all of the reasons are (hear me out here) really dumb. Because:
1. Cobblestone locks chests anyways ...
2. ... wait, that's it. Cobble locks chests! Any block does really.
... so i mean, the argument I've heard is that we're a survival server. Well, there's nothing "survival" about being able to lock out all guests from your realm, ... that protects your chests too.
So we have placing a block on your chest, or going no visitors, to protect your stuff.
So then what's with the hardcore attitude about "oh, we're too survival to let people lock their chests!" when YOU CAN ANYWAY with cobble or privacy settings?!?
I just want the REAL REASON. Explains it to me. Is there an exploit, some balance thing we're worried about. Because if not, I'd just prefer to lock my chest with a command than have to ban visitors from seeing my awesome constructions, or having to eyesore it up with blocks of cobble on top of my chests.
Holla.
