If B) then existing realm owners can be given compensation for the disbanding of their realms, according to the size of their realm.

Compensation can be in diamonds or cobble or whatever. Maybe when they make a new realm you can bump it up to whatever their previous realm size was.

i like the idea but the problem there is so many people would have to tear down stuff they have been working on for a long time. i know i wouldnt want to move it

I see no reason for this. I'm sorry, Glitch, but you're acting like other people haven't discussed this already. I agree with Spritzo when he said there isn't really a point to expanding Spawn City. And I personally can state that I see this as being completely unreasonable to the realm owners near spawn. What if they picked that location for a reason? You are basically asking them to move out and rebuild whatever they built again in a different area. It's there choice if they want to risk getting griefed, but it is completely unfair to them for us to just force them out of their land.

All this would accomplish is basically making spawn city 1000x1000 (500 each direction from spawn). This no realm zone would take up 1/9th of our 3000 x 3000 map. We cannot afford just giving that space to one realm and not expect others to want space like that around them too.

This may also deter many new players to the server (those who don't want to be a part of spawn city, but don't want to be too far from spawn).

And have you even looked at how many realms are within 500 blocks from spawn? Just to save you the time counting its over 30.

ya I guess when I said 500 blocks from spawn, I was thinking 500x500 with spawn in the center, so really 250 in any direction.

250 isnt that much, its already at 65

hell how about 150 blocks from spawn


most of the realms within 150 blocks of spawn are dumb 40x40 realms that are going to get abandoned when someone doesnt log in for a week anyway (assuming that part of the realm code still works)

so even just preventing new realms from starting within that distance would help over the next few weeks

spawn isn't important? The server population and attitude would be worlds different if spawn was still a 50x50 pvp camperfest. Believing anything different is ignorance. Granted that the difference between a 130x130 spawn and a 200x200 spawn might not be as big. But then again it might be bigger

Well I think Spawn City isnt much worth expanding. Most people only use the wheat farm or go there to trade items. in my opinion I dont think spawn city only needs 1 building for trading and thats about it.
