Ah, but the factions still have a massive advantage even if the xp rate is exactly the same. The factions could easily divide themselves up and have some grind smoothstone, others hunt down diamonds to give the grinders diamonds pickaxes, others tasked with wood or food harvesting...

Division of labor would allow them to drastically cut down the time needed to reach the nether. Plus, once they get there they will be a mob of people armed and armored in iron/diamond because they can have people working on that while others grind xp while you will be a solo guy with crap gear since you have to focus on grinding. I am sure you can see how that will end.

Factions are simply going to do everything better because they can do it in mass. The independents only chance is to get in there in the first rush, loot fast and split before the factions totally strip everything from the nether. That or head for the far edges of the nether and pick bits of glowstone off that the factions haven't gotten to yet, effectively scavenging off the scraps the factions can't be bothered with.

Of course this all assumes the factions target the nether. They could very well ignore the nether in favor of locking down all the strongholds with access to the end.

About the nether AND a big issue on the leveling up.

"Each spell will cost the player experience levels but in turn allows the player to enchant armor, swords and tools with one or several random bonus attributes as well as making the items glow with a brilliant hue."

Also: "Repairing an enchanted weapon/tool will remove the enchantment on it."

Meaning I'm lvl 15, I use 6 lvl's I can't go to the nether.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Secondly, a lot of people will go to the nether in search for certain ingredients for brewing, including glowstone, I want to know how much glowstone it spawns.... I think there should be enough left for further players (for example 7 months). Otherwise it's like it is now.

Glowstone is more important in the next update as it's also being used in brewing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Realms: In short (so far as I understand it), Realms are being keeped and all public realms are being wiped. No expansion in the world. Are these things about:

"Realms:
Realms will be defined as the 1000x1000 area around a spawn point. You are automatically assigned to a realm when you first join the game."

Still being seen as an option? If it is I understand newcomers simply get a plot in the beginning and they can move away from the 1000x1000 area whenever they want. The plot can be sold and re-used by a newcomer when the owner has sold it and moved away (in case he just wants to go out of the spawn point)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guilds
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sounds fun, although I don't like the upgrading thing. Personally I think guilds would be a drag but I understand many people would love to. I'm not the boss :). The idea could be good for a lot of people.

Still the upgrading thing I don't like. It's better to not give it in with money but with simply another simple point system. Points for kills, building etc.

100 Points - lvl 1
200 Points - lvl 2
300 Points - lvl 3
500 Points - lvl 4

And so on, of course this can be more complicated and more thought of, but as a fact I'm stating an idea here. A not completely thought of idea yet.

Also I got a real feeling op RPG here. People can get money and when they don't get any for the guild they get kicked out of the guild. But still people will be randomly recruiting new members. Makes me think of Scarlet Legacy... No Guild Guests (GQ) you get kicked out. It will be more of a "were a bigger clan" fight. Personally not my taste.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parties
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Don´t like the idea, simply because it can be a drag to get 6 people together. It won´t be fun as it´s more to get fast experience and not to have fun building something. PvP will be over popular with this, but as for people like me, I'm playing the game, I like the people, but I'm not planning AT ALL to get in a guild or get into parties. Simple reason would be because I don't like PvP. All these chances put a huge focus on PvP. Parties (no guilds but friends raiding the nether roads) guilds are going to have a warzone in the nether. This whole system won't make a RPG but as I see it. It doesn't have enough in leveling up and such to be a RPG. Still, I think all these chances pus something in minecraft a lot of people aren't looking for.

Recently, it is starting to seem very desirable to be part of a faction.. I don't like where this is all heading.

As of "The End"

I don't like it that much actually, not worth going to in ANY way. Well not yet maybe....

EDIT: I don't seem to get it perfectly, is The End a mod or a plugin or something Notch is developing?
EDIT2: Nvm Notch does it....

Intelli's "experience" and minecraft's "experience" are completely seperate entities, as stated in the OP. Intelli needs to rename his resource.

The majority of the glowstone won't last a week. Scavengers will continue to find it for another 2 weeks. X-rayers will get the scraps buried in the cieling.

You have completely misunderstood this. The only mechanics change is that you will be able to choose where you spawn. Stop using your imagination and actually read the words that were written.

And this is what happens when you misread one little word.

This is a big sorry that goes out to everyone who read my previous post. I assumed that when Intelli mentioned you would earn more experience when you're in a party, that it said you would earn more "credits" when you're in a party. That was an epic fail. I now understand why everyone's complaining about it. I got everything wrong.

I'm deleting that previous post, cause I'm sure it will cause huge headaches. It's all wrong.

@cervox

1. If you're so concerned about "factions" having an advantage, what's stopping you from going and joining up with a team of players yourself?

2. I advise you re-read the party experience formula. If you have a party of 6 users, with only 5 building, you'll earn less experience. It's only faster if all 6 players are building at maximum speed; which is very possible, but it's still a minor bonus.

3. You complain about the level 10 limit giving "factions" an advantage. However, I don't see how - any group of players will be able to level up just as fast. Even if there wasn't a level limit, I don't see it making a huge difference.

I don't like the things with the worlds. I think a tad choclatey, and I just don't want to have to mine for a while to get killed in the nether, and work hard to be possibly disappointed in the end.
