Full map wipe. Nothing imported. Everything reset.

No map wipe, stays as-is. A few melon seeds (etc) spawned to get the blocks into the system.

I'm fine with either the first or last option, though I would prefer the last option honestly. I've spent the last month working almost non stop on my realms to ready them for 4.0, if I lost them I might just leave. There is still land I'd like to expand to around my realms but won't have time before the impending wipe, if we go with the first option then the terrain of the realms I wish to expand to will change drastically. I'd be happy with keeping the current map and just expending the edges... Then we don't have to worry about transferring things over or having Abyssus surrounded by water or anything unpleasant like that.

I will not rebuild Roanoke on this server. I put as much time into it as I did because you said you would import private realms. I can't imagine Suika wanting to redo everything he's done with new Frogtown as well. Forgive me Suika if I'm speaking out of turn.

Don't get me wrong. I have no problem with change. But we have been told multiple times one thing. We try to plan and build accordingly. It really confuses me when the rules constantly change or keep opening back up for debate.

I enjoy the server. Don't get me wrong. Consistency is good though. Just saying.

Speaking as someone who has been here since the start, a complete map wipe is not so terrible. I have been in many great cities that have completely vanished due to map wipes at various points. In the end, we always rebuild just fine, even if it does not come out exactly the same. On the flip side, keeping our stuff would be nice.

Either way it goes, I am happy.

This. A wipe would be ok if we hadn't been told several months ago that a wipe will not happen. But at this point, it would be extremely frustrating to be told the plan is changing after a long period of playing with assumptions and goals based on what we were told the plan would be.

That said, I doubt I'd leave the server even if I end up being upset with how this matter turns out... it would be a choice between starting from scratch on a different server whose community may or may not be decent, and starting from scratch on a server whose community I already know to be great.

Wipe the map, keep the realms. why is it even a discussion?

It's been talked to death, people worked hard to get things the way they want...and yeah everyone CAN rebuild, it doesn't mean they WANT to rebuild.

So is it wrong that I hope Notch makes it so old maps are corrupt and unusable? ^_^

Just a bit...

When I was jobless and had time to do whatever, you could map wipe weekly for all I cared... now that I work crazy 12hr shifts daily, not so much.

Alot of good points have been made so far.

Didn't we already decide that realms will transfer over though? If you truly want a clean wipe just sell all of your realms and jump in some lava. I see no reason for a full wipe, because alot of people have already spent a great deal of time working on countless projects and if the server gets wiped, then there time has been wasted. That's just what I think.

I personally like occasional, full map wipes just because I usually get tired of seeing the same stuff everyday, and because I have nothing to build at the moment. I basically login to check on people anymore, I don't build. I have no reason to. Right now I have my wheat farm, mob grinder, skeleton and zombie spawner traps, etc. So a full map wipe would be cool, it'll give me something to do. Plus the mines and strongholds will be cool to explore finally. And I really don't care that my realms will be lost, I'll just buy more later on.

I'm pretty solidly in favor of the (As Discussed) option. At this point everyone has spent the last several weeks/months preparing for the map wipe. Even as new as I am I know that the resources I have storage in my Home realm are worth way more than the 10K I paid for the original realm. To say nothing of the amount of time I spent digging near bedrock level to gather those resources.

I'm not sure I'd stay on the server if everything I've done so far was wiped, especially after being led to believe for the last couple months that I would keep what I've built up.

Just sayin'
