YESYESYES this idea is awesome. idk why people seem unable to understand that it is not YOUR city, you are simply the first person (since i've been on minerealm) to have proposed such a fully developed idea. all of the players will be equal participants. i'm excited for all of the new possiblities this can ignite...can u say urban warfare....i would also love to help build this, if that were open for discussion. if you want to see some of the things i've built, msg me in game and i can show you...good luck getting this approved (you have my vote llol) and i hope this becomes a reality...

I know you said that you really liked the concept and thats why you're proposing this, but really, do you want to spend your resources on something that makes the nether worse for others then it is already? There are griefed portals, people complaining about being killed when "unarmed" and accusing each other of griefing this and that or killing him and her. If your only reason is to waste time and resources to build a city that won't really "help" (like helpbot falling behind expectations) then its a stupid idea. Its emphasizing PvPing on other innocent players just because its "fun" and even if its legal, its very annoying and can make people rage-quit easily. The portal safe-rooms are WAY better.

I understand where you're coming from, but there's little I can do about keeping people from ganking one another. There is still PvP in the safe rooms, so its mostly how the players conduct themselves. It boils down to an issue of trust. Can we trust the players to not go stab-happy inside the city and kill unarmed and unarmored people? I'd like to hope so.

The nether code of conduct that I posted a week or two ago will be on display at the city entrance. I know not everyone will follow it, but it should help keep the peace a bit more where everyone can keep an eye on each other.

+1 and -1. The code will be useful, but it doesn't protect against newbies and trolls. Whatevs. No more arguing for me.

Well you'll also have the police forces keeping the peace. So any newbie or troll that decides to go all stab happy is likely to get jumped by one of the officers, or even one of the citizens.

In addition, the city will keep the gankers off the Nether Roads, making them a bit safer for casual travel.

Assuming that this is the outcome, this statement has single-handedly garnered my support.

A city means stores, banks, and most of all, people.

Gankers are attracted to people they can gank.

Therefore logic would dictate that the gankers will gravitate to the city (or at least the area around the city) where they can find people to gank. :D I mean, why wander around the Nether when there's a city right there with people?

Could be wrong though >.>
