Just to put my 2 cents in....Newegg is definitely the way to go, unless you have a Microcenter hanging bout your town. Then you can go and touch and feel and taste and.....well you can see in person all you are buying.

Honestly i've found the basic 2009 21.5 inch iMac with a little extra RAM to be perfectly sufficient, it runs all my games at 70+ fps, while browsing the net, on MSN and listening to music. it also runs AUTOCAD, which requires a lot of power and ram and graphics, surprisingly well. best thing is, you only essentially have a flatscreen display, no need for a bulky tier under the desk!
