"...Nor did he appear the following day. Glanton took charge of the operation of the ferry. People who had been waitting three days to cross at a dollar a head were now told that the fare was four dollars. And even this tariff was in effect for no more than a few days. Soon they were operating a sort of procrustean ferry where the fares were tailored to accommodate the purses of the travelers. Ultimately all pretense was dropped and the immigrants were robbed outright. Travelers were beaten and their arms and goods appropriated and they were sent destitute and beggared into the desert. The doctor came down to remonstrate with them and was paid his share of the revenues and sent back. Horses were taken and bodies began to drift past the Yuma camp downriver. As these outrages multiplied the doctor barricaded himself in his quarters and was seen no more.
In the following month a company from Kentucky under General Patterson arrived and disdaining to bargain with Glanton constructed a ferry downriver and crossed and moved on. This ferry was taken over by the Yumas and operated for them by a man by the name of Callaghan, but within days it was burned and Callaghan's headless body floated anonymously downriver, a vulture standing between the shoulderblades in clerical black, silent rider to the sea."

This is the reality of the world. These events did occur. We are only so lucky for the fortune of modern law and to a lesser degree the fortune of moral law. These pretenses of the way we will or will not treat one another are easily transferred to mediums of lesser meaning, what is Minerealm. If the interpretation of hell cannot persist without a foundation of anarchy than shall it persist at all?

There is tons of free land around my area and I'm in the 3000s.

Can't argue with that, I live in a similar area. However, it is still quite easy to find public land as close as 1000 from Spawn City. Heck, I can even point out a couple plots as close as 600.

The road was originally invented for easy transportation, and noobs to know where they're going. It has turned into a crime ridden place where you are charged your hard earned credits for what used to be free: walking.

Bottom line: You will not have to worry about these chumps when NTC!'s army is on, we have overpowered them numerous times today, and in the past have had very close battles.

Pvp is in it's prime now. For those who wish not to join in, fear not. From this point forward, newbs will be escorted free of charge through the nether, and protected from the filthy Dragoon camping force. If our players our on and ready to fight, you will have no trouble making it through.

I will admit, their tactics are tough to tango with. We've had our fair share of losses, as they have had a fine amount themselves. The only thing that needs to stop is this stupid "toll," you guys worked up in your heads.

Think of NTC! as the vigilantes of the nether. We will keep this filth off of the road.

(Anything that could be perceived as an insult can be roughly considered as role-play. Good spirited pvp wars deserves it's own dialogue :))

I think "safe," would be an overstatement. Not only would that be taking the meaning out of the nether, but it would take away the risk. There has to be some sort of risk for taking a shortcut, like in a racing game with shortcuts, the shortcut is harder to access and if you don't do things right you could end up losing the race.

This is paraphrasing of course, but it's basically saying that if you enter the nether, you're physically contracted to danger.

Nonetheless, Ceterians are some persistent s.o.b.'s, and they are indeed skilled pvpers. We will only provide what is mandatory, if you are trapped in that jail situation we will aid you. Furthermore, today the nether was safer than usual because we wiped out wave after wave of Ceterian Dragoons, and monitored the road for quite some time. It was only until Fritterdonut damaged me down to 2 hearts whilst still in the portal, and I tried to flee because I'm not fighting near a portal (didn't swing once to ensure "loyalty" to the rule) and was chased by 3 portal campers and murdered for my items.

However, fritter did see the error in his ways, and I didn't post the video of them camping the portal because he returned my items.

Well you should be happy to know that the Dragoons have come to the decision to permanently do away with the Nether toll.

In addition to holding the roads, we will be working on expanding them (width wise) and maintaining them.
