well even though this was from something that isn't that political....

The president doesn't run the country, and he is just a system head for the real corporation running the government. They have people "vote" on the president and when things get bad the corporation never gets blamed just the system head. Such as after hurricanes devastated New Orleans Bush was seen as a horrible president. I am not saying that he is/isn't, but saying that he took the fall for something that probably wasn't of his personal doings.

Actually corporations control the american government by having their lobbyists dump money on members of the legislative branch (congress members and senators) not so much the executive, and if you have majority of congress or senate under your control then you have way more power than the president (they can also use that political leverage against the president for maximum bill blockage)
That's how it works, and its all technically legal.
ex:
There was actually a bill a while ago that was going to send money to help the firefighters who are all dying now because of all the dust they ended up inhaling from 9/11 (it was full of asbestos and lead paint), as well as close a tax loophole that pretty much every outsourced corporation was using, only 1 member of congress voted to pass it, he gave a valiant firey speech about how messed up the rest of congress is for not passing it, they didn't even blink, and just stared at the guy. The next day majority of the media criticized the man for being immature and unprofessional and even over-reacting (because the media is owned and funded by the same corporations).

Its not the president you need to worry about when it comes to corruption in government.

Sorry, you made me laugh.

First why did you quote him when, your whole post was on Corporations Corrupting Congress, while his was the President Takes the Fall for his Corporation's (which I assume is the most of the government) Mistakes. Correct me if I am wrong, but eplawsl I don't think understand what he posted.

Your first paragraph is made under the false pretense that lobbyists have complete control over senators. In order to have complete control, would they not have A: Mind Control Devices or B:Be the Congress men and women themselves?

I could not find your example bill, but I did find this bill [Public Law No: 111-347] which grants 4.3 billion to such an effort. Which is contradictory to part of your statement. If you do happen to find that bill, I would like to see it.

And of corruption of Congress. I would worry about any part of my government that is corrupted not just worry about a single part of it. Also contradictory to popular belief the president is the most powerful person in this country. Congress together may hold more power than the president, but it is made up of 535 members.

(Which also happens to be more than one. [1 < 535])

So please don't about throwing your incomplete opinion willy-nilly saying that the government is a God forsaken place full of corporate corruption . Its just a step too far into the realm of fiction.
